Normani

I’m glad she’s getting a check but that tresemme stuff is lowkey a mess. She was being introduced on award shows by respected acts and had a ton of support but now she’s a part time influencer. I hope she gets something together if she even still cares. Chloe moving full steam ahead without a hit is the way to go (I don’t see her album doing well but at least she’s building a discography)

If Normani‘s next move was to release a cover, album title and date she would start to make noise again. Another single announcement will do little to nothing at this point and even thats looking unlikely

This TT sums up everything I feel about the situation. Here’s to hoping 2023 will prove to be good to her.

Lol if this was the case then she’s a fool for sitting around doing nothing with her socials, interacting with fans, releasing things on SoundCloud/YouTube, or even speaking out at this point because it’s been years. To act like she is a victim and so blameless for the state of things is nothing but pure delusion

What would she release on SoundCloud? The music she most likely doesn’t own and didn’t contribute to other than lending her vocals and maybe some writing? We don’t see a lot of the stuff she’s recorded go to other artist for no reason. Like think everything all the way through.

Your issue seems to have to do with her not being accessible to you more than it does with the state of her music career. Though things like Vlogs or even Instagram lives would be nice, they are not owed to fans. I know in this age of social media that’s a lot for some of you to wrap your heads around.

We do not know the exact issues she has with her label or if she is even allowed to speak on the situation. Given the history of this business, it’s usually once an artist leaves the label that they speak on what happened. I really don’t even understand why it’s so hard for fans like you to believe that the label isn’t behind this. Especially when you have artist like RAYE out here who said point black the label didn’t think she was good enough to release. It’s a tale as old as time.

Instead y’all believe your own opinions to be facts and disregard everything that we have seen in real-time regarding her music. It’s mind boggling to me.

Normani is not telling a multi-billion dollar label that she’s not releasing because she’s too scared or it’s not perfect enough yet. Honestly imagine that scene in your head and tell me it’s not as ridiculous as it sounds.

wow, haven’t been in here in ages (it’s so dreadful lmao) but I think he was just saying solely placing the blame on her is inaccurate and not fair considering how many times we’ve seen it happen in the industry. all things consider though, if that is what’s going on, I can honestly see her either pulling a raye/tinashe and going independent/losing a passion a music altogether and focusing on acting/brand deals/other ventures (which in all honesty I think would work out for her)

I definitely concede RCA is a horrible label but Normani has squandered a lot on her own too. Lauren was not presented with features with established acts, a BBMA stage, 2 VMA performances and a Cardi feature and she was considerably more popular while 5H was established. Even she is doing more grinding for herself out here than Normani ever has. And anytime Normani doesn’t get something the stans will come talk about her performances being sabotaged or some back alley conspiracy mess. Like come on. Even Brandon moved on fully with Anitta because she was getting out there by any means necessary.

Doja and Tinashe were under the same terrible label but you know with them they never gave up the fight. With Normani we don’t know a thing but all the things she hasn’t done

Doja and SZA made it certain RCA could not ignore them, Normani with much better positioning mind you… not so much. That’s my point.

Normani strikes me as the type of person to suffer in silence. She’s admittedly shy and over critical of herself as we have seen. She doesn’t speak on her issues until after the fact. It took her a bit of time to even address that Camila Fans situation.

Since you brought up T, I used to follow her heavily and she would defend both RCA and her crappy manager (Mike) while still signed. Believing that her situation would get better once they release her album but it never did because they kept delaying it.

Doja was collecting dust at RCA until Moo went viral. She got signed in what? 2012? Her debut album dropped in 2018.

And let me ask you this, had LL not blown up? Would Mani have received those opportunities? Cause if it were not for that song, she wouldn’t have had that viral moment at the BBMAs which opened the door to her getting those other collabs. That moment landed her on people’s radars and it’s not like it was just given to her.

If LL didn’t pop I don’t think she would have even gotten budget for Motivation. But that’s my point, like… is sis just sitting around waiting for all the stars to align? There’s an essential element from her that is clearly missing. Sure she can go off when the director says action but im finding there’s just a lot more to it than having a bad label. If anything, stars have aligned multiple times over for her and she hasn’t taken advantage.

I dont even care about an album at this point. I'll take a droplet era of 4 songs a year.

Tbh, I think she can still make it work out well but she has to come properly this time.

She just needs to release two catchy urban pop songs, Candy Paint, followed by a song with a strong hook/chorus but she can't just release one and stop. She has to release at least 2 (maybe 8 weeks apart?) and they must be up-tempo. It depends on the material to be honest but the slow RnB is not going to work in my opinion, as it's not what people want from her.

To me no contract is worth “suffering in silence”. If I’m not able to live a semi-normal life which means interacting with fans and speaking my truth then the contract isn’t worth it to me. That being said every time Normani has released she is active for a week or two, puts out one performance and then goes silent. Y’all can’t put that on RCA… She has the means to interact yet she goes silent. There’s been other artists who’ve put together their own performances and promoted themselves without the accompany of a label. It can be done. The problem she’s in is that if the song she puts out isn’t somewhat of a success her and/or her label immediately pulls back.

Normani needs to pull a Chloe and scrape all the pre-album songs including Wild Side. Restart the era with Candy Paint as the new lead. The only justification to keep Wild Side is to help scan the album as Gold with RIAA.

Wild Side is quality. It needs to be on the album.

Honestly after hearing the candy paint demo I wish she would scrap Candy Paint as the lead and give us a brand new uptempo song we haven’t heard. I still want her to release candy paint, however, her best bet with that song would’ve been to test the waters and release it with fair like they planned and see how the GP reacted to it. No doubt can it be a hit but it can also flop depending on how the final version sounds. It needs sped up a little with a bigger bass. It’s 50/50 IMO. 🤷🏽‍♂️

ATP her getting dropped by RCA and going independent would be the best option but at the same time i don’t think she is that passionate about music at all :celestial6:

I mean it can be. I just want completely new songs, no wasted slots. Especially considering Wild Side is almost 2 full years old. :pancake:

Fair can stay off the album imo

Agreed. I can't believe this fan base is still active and curating all these think pieces. Normani needs to release something so we all can collectively shut up! :dies:
