the way everything proceeding LTISY was well and it debuted with decent numbers too... i just wanna know what went wrong. its at like 200k streams a day now

LTISY had potential but there was no video and I think that kinda what pulled the plug from the song

there was minimal label investment in ltisy and its weird

if she was going for the safe pop single idk why the label didn’t secure some payola (radio deal, video, playlisting)

i would love to know what’s going on behind the scenes. i hope to god she’s not distributing the album through heavy on it but that would actually explain so much

idk, to me it seemed like she literally finished that song the moment she was teasing it and kinda sprung it on the label. doesn't necessarily explain why they didn't invest at all tho. maybe they were just hoping for tiktok virality/promo that paid for itself

I think LTISY accomplished it’s purpose.

- She needed a full song out to perform at the VMAs

- It was left of field production that further distinguished her breadth of capabilities among others in the genre & their recent releases

- It provided a cushion to counteract any potential “mean”, or “all she talks about is opps” reporting that would’ve undoubtably been lined up

- It called back to her tradition of releasing self reflective midtempos early on in her album cycles such as “Your Love”, “Pills n Potions” etc & played on that nostalgia

- It set a tone of “retrospection” that is a part of the upcoming album’s marketing, being “full circle” etc

- It pushed duds to play their hand with whatever material they had planned, in order to assess the climate

- It bought time for the album push-back

- Contrarily to how it statistically performed, I believe it did draw in an unlikely audience who appreciated its production & may have now had a change of heart of her public perception & would now potentially be checking for the album, regardless of whether they’re interested in female rap

- It achieved a brief virality that assisted with the trending & promotion of the upcoming album

- I don’t think it was ever intended to do much more than the above

She's ******* with us with this one

This is classic Nicki, as much as I would want the album to be finished, she was also recording stuff for TPP less than a month before its release.

:clack:

she worked on TPP 3 weeks before its release.

PF2 is 3 weeks away

lets hope this week she finally turns in the album.
