It doesn't seem like a "madonna" album at all. Some of the songs are lowkey emo music or a little bit goth. Madge was in her goth era. Apparently there was a controversy about george bush? I know nothing about that but sis was smart af to come up with confessions after that and the reinvention tour. A George Bush look alike was in the original American Life video before she pulled it off the air. She throws a granade at him in the audience and he's sitting next to Saddam Hussein. 8 hours ago, mjj said: Is madonna rereleasing her newer albums like madame x and rebel heart? Or just her old classics? I don't know why someone would remaster an album from 2019 but what do i know. MDNA, Rebel Heart, and Madame X are under Interscope until 2026 so they can't be released by Warner until after that.

She left Warner cause she thought she didn't have as much freedom during the last few eras before leaving. Plus her money hungry manager convinced her that her Live Nation deal was the better way to go because she was gonna get a huge paycheck. Her Live Nation contract required 4 tours and 3 albums. Little did she know, her new label was gonna be difficult to work with and didn't promote her nearly as much as Warner did, hence why she flopped with those 3 albums. However, the tours were a massive success. I think this is why she didn't hesitate to go back to Warner and she's finally embracing her legacy. They're doing wonders for her thus far.

Warner was trash for her as well at least she banked and served excellence in those tours

I feel the opposite. They promoted the hell out of AL despite it being a bad album (at least to the GP) and her first actual flop. Confessions was handled well despite them cutting the budget for the last 2 singles and they stopped pushing after Sorry. Hard Candy was decent as they insisted on 4 Minutes as the lead and made her another top 5 hit, but of course they gave up after that with more budget cuts and promoting. I think they knew her stardom was fading but at least they did their best to make the lead singles become hits and rolled out her albums quite well. Either way, now they will BANK on her reissues so it's a win/win.
T.O.A.D.S. Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 (edited) Quote DK: You worked with Madonna on her acclaimed Ray Of Light album. What was it like working with her? Rick Nowels: I always wanted to work with Madonna. I loved her voice, her songwriting, and the great records she made with Pat Leonard, Stephen Bray and Nile Rodgers. In 1997 I was in New York for the Grammys. I was up for Album of the Year (as one of the producers) for Celine Dion’s Falling Into You. I was in Barney’s (store) getting a tie for the Grammys and I saw Madonna there. I introduced myself, and I told her that she didn’t get the credit she deserved as a songwriter. Which is true, but it’s also an awkward thing to tell a huge superstar! She was very cool and gracious. I ended up getting a meeting with her in L.A. a few weeks later. We wrote nine songs together—three made the Ray of Light album: “The Power of Goodbye”, “Little Star” and “To Have and Not To Hold”. “The Power of Goodbye” was a number one song in U.K. and Europe. It was a career-changing experience for me. Before that I had always done my co-writing with friends. But working with Madonna…it was the first time I had ever written one-on-one with a great artist/writer. After that I changed gears a little, and now I mostly collaborate directly with artists. https://www.songwriteruniverse.com/rick-nowels-2015.htm Gone, Gone, Gone Like A Flower Revenge The Power of Good-Bye To Have and Not to Hold Little Star There are three songs we don't know about from these sessions... Listen to the full 12" remix... One of my fave remixes from her. I do hope that she releases the remixes that were officially commissioned for Now I'm Following You.
Alongoria13 Posted September 3, 2022 Author Posted September 3, 2022 I wish Madonna promoted her upcoming reissues with short tours showcasing the entirety of the album. Imagine a whole Erotica tour...a concept.

pisuke Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 American Life is one of her best albums. ***** really needs to upload the HD version of AL original video for once! And another one for DAD! Oh, and to release the RIT (and BAT) in full and remastered! It's about time and I hope we see it in this new era.
Lover Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE MADONNA AND DANCERS FUN FUN FUN
Jjang Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 @Alongoria13 Do you have her May total streaming numbers? January - 83.7M February - 85.9M March - 102M April - 96.8M May - June - 95.6m July - 95m August - 101.3m
Jjang Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Finally Enough Love 2nd week on the charts Belgium - #9 Switzerland - #10 (6 new entries) UK - #18 Finland - #18 Germany - #19 (9 new entries)
tiagol88 Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 I feel like Madonna is "this close" of having a hit currently... It's frustrating. People are warming up to her again, she's not been problematic on social media for like...over a year now (people are dumb and forget **** fast anyway) and there seems to be quite a lot of interest in her again. I honestly feel like if she re-released Erotica + reissued the Sex Book as well during this fall, it would actually be kinda poetic for her 30 years later.
Oktober Knight Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 I also think she's capable of having a hit. She just needs the right sound, a high budget music video, and Warner to shove it down everyone's throat. Hopefully this happens sooner than later. Imagine if she broke Cher's record (though I doubt it).

You can ask on UKMix, the information they have there is pretty good.
