pitysmith Posted October 8 Posted October 8 So most likely... working on the album until the holidays, and a trip back to NZ before finalizing details and lead single release next year?
Letemtalk Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 Yeah, I don't think this means much if she was walking around West Village, or even if she was near Electric Lady, or was visiting Electric Lady. Remember, she appears to have an apartment in West Village, so this is her local neighbourhood when she is in New York and arguably her local base when she is in the United States. What was significant about the August pictures, what that she was there with her producer and there was music production software visible on the computer screen. https://x.com/Lorde_fix/status/1825598741346398211 Some people on a thread that I can't find now, said the software was Logic Pro. Most people in pop/rock production use Pro Tools, and there was some speculation that this suggests they were working on a track with Dev Hynes who uses Logic Pro. In any case, the photo implied that they were recording/producing in August. Maybe she is releasing in 2025 or maybe not, but Lorde walking in West Village doesn't tell us much. But an album before she turns 28 isn't happening either.
sweetblindness Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I think it's definitely coming out in 2025, hopefully sooner rather than later but tbh I don't see it earlier than spring/summer. Luckily that's not too far. I think despite what she says the 4 year cycle just works best for her.
RatGod Posted October 23 Posted October 23 I genuinely cannot wait to see what she gives us next. It's clear she's been taking her time on this one, she's clearly been writing since the solar power tour and recording since last year at least. I only feel this much excitement about new music from her and Gaga, and with LG7 months away and L4 on the horizon, I can feel 2025 being another excellent year in music 2 1

GSC is just so monumental to me. 1

Letemtalk Posted October 26 Author Posted October 26 From her IG stories, perhaps we might get a Red themed Lorde album for L4: Posted by @Kayseri Mantisi in another thread: https://x.com/Lorde_fix/status/1849541598981542187 https://x.com/LordeBrasil/status/1849537398595600869 https://imgur.com/ZsLKgTO On 10/23/2024 at 8:04 PM, Kayseri Mantisi said: it's also interesting how quiet the insiders are this time compared to the SP era. I've been wondering at what stage we were getting leaks in the past, was it during production, or perhaps only after mixing and mastering and the first LP album test presses had been done and sent back to producers and label for final approval. I took a look at the old thread on archive.org. With Solar Power we had some rumours (some reasonably accurate) in Jan~Feb 2021 for what turned out to be an August album release. There were 6 month vinyl delays in 2021, so at least the demos must have been finished at that stage, if not the final mixing and mastering. So record label people had heard the songs. Then there was some more detailed info in March-April including predictions of collabs, and one that said "The sonic shift will be jarring and divisive." and in early May one that said the album is done "12 tracks + 2 bonus tracks, no "bops"". More rumours in late May and a festival announcement that she would headline Primavera Sound 2022. Then in the first few days of June we got song titles: Quote first single: solar power promo single: mood ring album probably called solar power too I'm not sure where we are with L4. I would not be surprised if she had presented a bunch of songs to her label and they said, "nice, but these days we want a 20 track album". 1

We really have no idea where we are right now. Do those pictures of Lorde and Jim-e Stack sitting in the park, mean she is still half way though recording a 20 track album? Or did they just get the L4 vinyl test pressings back, and listen to them in the studio? Or perhaps they are finishing a couple of bonus tracks? I remember during the Melodrama era, we learnt that she had been working on "Sober" during the week after performing as a guest of Disclosure at Coachella 2016. Sober was probably one of the first songs written for the album and Melodrama came out in June the following year, about 14 months later. She has been working on L4 in a studio in London around May or June 2023 and here we are 16 months after those London studio sessions and we still don't know anything. 1

I also remember her dropping Green Light while she was still working on the album, like she definitely said the album was not finished after Green Light was out but this time it looks like she's trying to finish everything before releasing

But that was during a time when Billboard let you count album orders in the charts, physical shipments could come later. This new Instagram story was really surprising to me tbh, cuz normally whenever she does a story dump (which she did 2 days ago) she disappears again for a few months. But this time she's posting again and it's so random too since it's not connected to a dump like she usually does lol. Maybe she's coming back soon so she started to be more active? 1

Wonderland Posted October 26 Posted October 26 "After The Ecstasy, The Laundry" is going to be the "Stoned At The Nail Salon" of L4 I just know it

Spoiler And honestly, after the meltdowns that happened with SP I imagine the users with any info will stay more quiet this time as to not create any expectations or disappointment. There is one quote from an email she sent last year that stuck with me. And we KNOW she loves being cryptic, but I have been thinking about what she envisioned when she said this - "I said onstage that night that making and touring this album has set so much right inside me. I truly think it's bought me decades in this bizzzzniz, can't wait to show you what I mean." She was mostly talking about touring, but I feel like it also involved her general career plans. Which eventually led to a lightweight conspiracy theory of mine. What if, rather than one long album, she's been working on L4 and L5 at the same time? In the years since SP's release I feel like the excitement has been rising again, which might also lead to some added pressure for it to properly hit. With the added element of her usually drawn-out release schedule (which early on she said she wanted to break), maybe she is taking more time now to complete a larger body of work equating to two albums that she releases within a one year period, followed by an extended tour. It would be an exciting surprise, technically break her 4 year release gap, and potentially garner critic's interest. Also, I mean two incredibly distinct albums, not an additional one that feels like offshoots of the previous. Now watch her release a very average-length 10 track album and disappear for even longer. 2

kimberly Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I'd love to have a lead single in Q1 and album in either late Q1 or sometime in Q2. very excited for her return as a Solar Power truther that tour was really fun, as well. 1 1
