I’m reading a lot of excuses in this thread :coffee2:

Gaga still hasn’t proved herself as a lyricist or putting out an acclaimed body of work, and that’s fine to admit. She’s checked most of the boxes in the “entertainer” category, I would like to see her check more as an “artist”

Don't take this like an attack, but after years I thought you finally moved on from your prententious Pitchfork-Metacritic bubble needing of validation in order to judge a body of work or an artist and started to develop your own taste instead of keep letting others decide for yourself, imagine saying that Lady Gaga out of all the artists of her generation (that have been played safe for most of their careers, no matter their pointless Metacritic scores) still need to prove herself as 'artist' and lyricist, this means not having understand anything of Gaga as artist since the beginning of her career.

I will never understand the people that need to have a number on Metacritic or an album being "raved" on some pretentious publications like Pitchfork in order to consider one of her work 'acclaimed' or valid, basically letting a bunch of hacks deciding your taste for you.

There are tones of albums, movies, tv shows, art-entertainment works that weren't raved or "universally acclaimed" (what a dumb term considering the reviews are from the US only by the way) but they're still valid or very good, and obviously not everything that is raved is automatically good, growing some taste out of the schemes and indipendent thinking should be a priority instead.

Last but not least this drought is really bringing out the worst of some of you with the most dumb takes, because I can understand being pissed for the lack of the Chromatica ball or other minor stuff like that, but reaching the point of putting in discussion her as an artist daily with takes as 'she hasn't proved  enough of herself as artist or lyricist' or shitting constantly on her discography is just some other level of bullshit.

The Fame Monster & Born This Way would be 80+ with ease if released today. Know that.

Metacritic scores shouldn't be taken that seriously considering how corrupted they are by some biased critics, especially for a divisive artist like Lady Gaga.

Remember about Born this way receiving a zero score from that critic's review...

I mean metascores are silly because 60-80 is the same. You don’t just look at that one thing to look at it an album is acclaimed. There’s things like year end lists, Grammys etc to take into account to decipher acclaim.

Her team sounds like they suffer from ADHD or something. The incompetence is too much, how do you sit this long on a documentary about a jazz legend who died several months ago? :doc:

During the 'Chromatica' release me and other users from here contacted a hack on Twitter who basically wrote a positive review for 'Chromatica' for a publication counted on Metacritic because he gave a low score that wasn't matching the positive review and what he actual said, something wasn't adding up.

We make him noticed that and he basically replied to us that he was his first review for a publication and that he was new to those stuff not knowing exactly how it works :rip:

He then said that he would have modified the score, he eventually ended up didn't (probably because he was scared of losing credibility or something), but this just to give a prospective of what is counted on Metacritic and what kind of people are behind certain reviews.

Or should I mention for example another hack that during the HOG era was exposed for having transphobic jokes about Gaga on his Twitter timeline? Like...

I honestly would be ok if Gaga most memorable work ended up being soundtracks. If Gaga can score her biggest hit with JFAD like Whitney Houston “I will always love you” the acclaim, the success and iconic lyrics. What is there left to complain about? Adele praise give me insight that other girls just don’t have what Gaga has which is respect within the industry, her talent, and being a successful actress and over entertainer. Gaga shaping her career in similarity to Barbara Streisand, Cher, and maybe even Whitney Houston. Is her advantage against the likes of beyonce and Taylor.

JFAD is not going to serve her an I Will Always Love You sized hit :suburban:

Since we never got an official announcement for it, I'd wager it got pushed back and not canceled. Paramount+ owns it though, so its out of Gaga's hands.

The holidays would’ve been a great opportunity to release either this Tony documentary or the tour film. The way they keep delaying both is just incomprehensible.

I don't know if any of you play Fortnite, but Bad Romance is now in the game.
