Almodusa Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Oh yeah the final leg (before the inevitable extension from a new contract) will bring it to at least $105m it seems 1

Leptine Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I wouldn't take for granted that JFAD will 100% automatically smash or lead to awards, you never know with movies, **** happens, but I agree I don't see it bombing either, the first movie has became a classic + Gaga's power and curiosity for her role, I think there will be a lot of curiosity, they also had plenty of times to work on it with editing and stuff, hopefully it's gonna get even a better reception than the first critics wise, if that happens, I can see it smashing easily, we'll see but I agree that is better not acting as if things are 100% settled. Trailer will also play a big factor in creating hype.

TheLastChord Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Comic book films have clearly peaked, and there isn't as much interest in the films as there was. However, it does seem like big brands are still very much alive. I wouldn't bet against a Spiderman / Batman / MCU X-Men film(I imagine Deadpool will do great numbers if it does end up getting released next year), and a few select others. And Joker is definitely the most iconic comic book villain, and has proven to be a brand of his own. Like the first Suicide Squad film was a MESS, but Joker (And Will to be fair) definitely helped that movie get to nearly 800m with abhorrent reviews(deserved) THAT BEING SAID, we have to remember this is an R rated film, and that the main audience is mostly men. If the film does have a take on feminism, abusive relationships, etc, we know right wing media will pull the exact same scheisse they pulled with Barbie. The big difference with Barbie of course is that it's a film for general audiences and families and it's not a film targeted at men, so the film didn't need them in order to be successful. I'm kind of hoping Harley also stands on its own and serves as a push for the Joker brand, on top of Gaga's star power of course. But a 1.1b gross WITHOUT China is insane for an R rated film, we must remember that. 2

Aden Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I had no idea I Ain't Worried snatched 1.2 billion streams of Spotify. I always knew it was the more well-received TGM single but I didn't think it out-streamed Hold My Hand that much. To be fair to HMH, I Ain't Worried kinda flopped on YouTube compared to how well it did on Spotify, and HMH did really well on YT. Video Views I Ain't Worried - 222 million views Hold My Hand - 212 million views Audio Views I Ain't Worried - 14 million views Hold My Hand - 10 million views

Vroom Vroom Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 HMH did cute numbers. It had mega expectations because of Top Gun 1’s soundtrack and it being her follow up soundtrack song to ASIB It was a credits song and performed similarly to most credit songs. They should of utilized it in the movie instead of hiding the instrumental throughout the score It’s a solid Gaga ballad and it’s unique for her. Most of her ballads are piano heavy so HMH stands out. The Chromatica ball performance of this song is stellar Oscar nominated Gaga songs: Shallow > HMH > TIHTY 1
GraceRandolph Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 HMH is such a disappointment. Let’s not sugar coat it. 4 4 1
Happylittlepunk Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Of all the super hero IP’S Batman and Spiderman are the safest brands for smashing on the box office because history and time has shown people will always flock to see both of those superheroes individual movies. Expanded universe films and critical reception is another story. But none of these movies from both brands have really ever truly flopped at the box office. Spider man 3 with tobby McGuire did have Luke warm reception but it didn’t flop. batman has never had a flop film commercially. The chances of JFAD flopping/underperforming are minimal but it will all come down to that first movie trailer. If it serves talent from Gaga, and Joaquin, amazing editing and music it will smash.

This is true but as someone who deep in the fandom the fanbase and many companies are starting to crack down on incels. They are never happy with any material unless it sticks to the original story/pure form. Which in a movie format is very unrealistic. It will all come down to marketing and the first movie trailer. Gaga herself could appeal greatly to fandom by literally catering to fanbase without being polarizing like Tom Holland, Robert Downey jr, Robert Pattinson, and Jenna Ortega did with their iconic roles.
hausofdave Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 in Grammy winner Todd Phillips we trust, he's basically been on a streak of hits since The Hangover except for War Dogs
Aden Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Hold My Hand numbers are pretty great, be for real. 99% of soundtrack songs flop into oblivion. For a soundtrack with 200 million+ YouTube views and Spotify streams, it's a smash for its category. It's unfair to hold the good sis to pop single standards.

Yea, Demi Lovato had the lead single for the new hit Scream movie. It has 4.2M views on YouTube. 8,303,567 total Spotify streams and 15,060 daily streams HMH looks like a smash hit compared to that song. HMH has performed similarly to Lift Me Up. LMU has slightly better stats but it received a ridiculous amount of payola. All things considered, it did well for a credit movie song
