I hope an old demo leaks. Or maybe the full version of Clover. That'll help me survive until JFAD. :gaycat6:

She was never gonna make a soundtrack song for Barbie when her own musical is being released next year:rip:.

Maybe they could have slapped plastic doll on it

I think the same. Also, can’t wait for JFAD! The music is going to be amazing, I can just feel it.

I wanna know if those July studio sessions with Jeff Bhasker actually happened. We'll see if Has It Leaked was right about the Q4 ones.

Do we remember where the Jeff rumor was from? I feel like we'd see some sort of pap pics of studio visits or something if they did but she's been suuuper stealthy for a bit now so it's really hard to say. The way she's in Minnesota one day, NYC next and yesterday just popped up in Vegas out of nowhere :deadbanana:

HIL is fairly reliable and has industry connections so I'm believing the Q4 rumors for now. It's not like we have a lot to work with in this pre-LG7 era anyway ddd :eli:

I really think Gaga and her team should start trying to find ways to promote her albums beyond just the singles. I was just comparing her average album streams per track and the percentage of total album streams each album's most streamed track is with her peers, and...let's just say it didn't look the best for our girl. :skull: (It could be worse, but could definitely be better too.) It just got me thinking how they always seem to just focus on pushing the singles (and lately, just one single :rip:) and expecting that will carry the entire album. That may have worked in the sales era, but it doesn't exactly have the same impact in the streaming era.

Perhaps they could invest more of the marketing budget towards album tracks that are organically doing relatively well (for example, they could have lobbied for Alice and Replay to get playlisting), release music/lyric/etcetera videos for more non-singles (even if videos are dead compared to how they used to be, they still have a slow burn boost on streams), and if she's up for it, include album tracks along with the singles in promo performances like how she used to do with Hair, Speechless, and Brown Eyes for example. Idk, just some ideas. :lee:

How would you go about this? I guess more music videos would improve this, along with a visual album, but I’m not sure what else could be done.

I did say back in 2020, that they should have treated Chromatica as they did Billie’s debut. MVs and playlisting for album tracks without caring about radio hits.. like they could send the songs to radio but not expect them to be top 10 on pop…

they almost did it with 911 but the playlisting on Spotify lacked and they killed it by tagging chroma iii as the song from the mv

I think a combination of a bigger spotlight being given to album tracks (through playlisting, music videos, and performances) along with making sure they're on par with the singles in terms of quality (because let's be honest, the singles are often, though not always, the best songs on her albums) would definitely help. I don't think it wouldn't fix things immediately though, I feel like it would have to be something that's worked on for a few albums before it's fully effective. None of it will happen though so we're all just speculating for nothing at the end of the day. :spin:

Exactly, what they did with 911 (other than that mess up with the tagging, still can't believe that happened :deadbanana2:) was great. Sure, the song didn't smash, but in the streaming era, that doesn't have to be the point with post-album singles especially. The relatively small push they gave it, while not resulting in a hit song, essentially doubled its streams and boosted its profile in a way that is still noticeable to this day compared to the rest of the album (bar the singles and promo single of course):

Daily Streams: 691K

Rain On Me: 294K

Sour Candy: 126K

 Stupid Love: 79K

911: 44K

Replay: 30K

Alice: 24K

Free Woman: 20K

Babylon: 18K

Sine From Above: 11K

Enigma: 10K

Fun Tonight: 9K

Plastic Doll: 8K

1000 Doves: 7K

Chromatica II: 6K

Chromatica I: 5K

Just from the music video and light playlisting, 911 is pulling double the daily streams of the majority of the album, and is less than half the daily streams of its lead single that had a major initial push. Now let's imagine they went the Billie approach and did this light push for a total of 7 songs, assuming it would around double what the songs streams currently are as we saw with 911. (We'll assume Rain On Me, Stupid Love, Sour Candy, and 911 are already included in the 7 songs).

Daily Streams: 765K

Rain On Me: 294K

Sour Candy: 126K

 Stupid Love: 79K

Replay: 60K

Alice: 48K

911: 44K

Free Woman: 40K

Babylon: 18K

Sine From Above: 11K

Enigma: 10K

Fun Tonight: 9K

Plastic Doll: 8K

1000 Doves: 7K

Chromatica II: 6K

Chromatica I: 5K

That's an 11% increase in daily streams for the overall album, which doesn't seem like much, but if we apply that to the album's total streams to date, that would be an additional 263M streams (putting the album at 2.7B streams), which would bring in an estimated $1.054M in revenue to Interscope from Spotify alone. Of course it depends how much money they would spend to get there, but I can't imagine it would be more than that if they keep it low key like they did with 911. (Keep in mind this is all speculation and extrapolation of course. :rip:)

I always try to ignore how depressing the album’s recurrent streams are… like…

Like others have said, I feel like playlisting and promoting more than just obvious radio singles would be the most obvious steps. Going back to Chromatica, it's overperformance with its Spotify debut says a lot about her demand. People are interested, the album just didn't connect for various reasons. It's some combo of releasing strong, interesting albums with less dated promo campaigns.

In general, I think focusing on streaming and the momentum she's gained in reconnecting with younger listeners and pop audiences is the next logical step in her music career commercially. Not saying that she should do a bunch of Tik Tok jingles or adhere to trends, but there are a lot of obvious and relatively painless moves that could do that would make a big difference with time. She's basically at a point where she can take ahold of the second wind her career has received or shift into being another legacy act.

Yes they better start using TikTok properly too…

Would you choose Act 2 or LG7 to be released this Q4? :gaycat2: Tbh, I would say Act 2 so that we can close that chapter for good and hopefully ARTPOP era will end in a good note.

If she's just gonna drop something and vanish — which is what I feel like a 2023 release would result in — then I'd rather Act II to hold us over until LG7 is ready for a proper release and era.

i feel like monsters blame her team WAY too much for the reaction of gp to her music. if she does a good enough song that not just the gays stan does well, it will do well. She hasn't done this with AP, Joanne, Chromatica those albums were carried by one song and people loving her not the albums and that is why when she smashes she smashes because she already has so much going for her

I don't think this has been the case lately though, the singles are underwhelming compared to some album tracks.

A proper release in 2023 is to drop something, sell merch, disappear, and then go on tour. That is what a majority of her peers are doing. If you think she is ever going to go on a year long album campaign like BTW again, you are sorely mistaken

A question was asked and I answered with my opinion. :michael: Wbk she's not gonna promote like she used to, that doesn't mean she shouldn't or we shouldn't still be hopeful for it. :lee:

i think gags did her own makeup at the sephora event. sarah would have added thick eyeliner and dark red lipstick to make her look 50.

Ga Ga wearing her hair down also helped. The hag up-do should stay GONE. :clap3:

I think it was someone in the base who said it nn. I was expecting some pap pics as well. She's become way too secretive now. She'll probably record half of the album without us knowing anything about it. :deadbanana4:
