kylegfil_ Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I haven't yet chimed in - I've been walking on air for the last few days after getting to sing (scream) Love So Soft with Kelly on Thursday (?!) I am absolutely in love with every single aspect of this album. Every song is good. Even the songs that I love less than the others I still love. Right now, Lighthouse and Rock Hudson are the emotional core of the album while Down To You has me shakin' my t*ddies - but Magic, Chemistry and High Road are incredible. I want to give some time for the recency bias to get out of my body before definitively saying it but I feel like this is gonna end up being my favorite album by her. It's mature, she sounds unreal, it's reflective and sad and angry but also resolved. and the WRITING is amazing. 2
BravoTangoWhiskey Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Which of you stans is on Tidal’s payroll? a thoroughly enjoyable and informed read https://tidal.com/magazine/article/kelly-clarkson-chemistry/1-91821
BravoTangoWhiskey Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 (edited) Similarly to radio stations in the USA playing album tracks. BBC radio 2 has played both FKOH (00:44) and rock Hudson (11:23) in the past 24 hours. Seems like there is appetite to play whatever the next single might be Edited June 27, 2023 by BravoTangoWhiskey

I’d be curious to see the breakdown of how many units iTunes will be responsible for. now we just need more people to stream the album to get those numbers up and have the longevity

kylegfil_ Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 (edited) I know it's not over and we don't have the final numbers, but I also have to say that I was really worried that she'd sell only in the 20-30K range max for her first week, so the HDD prediction makes me SO happy. Of course I hope she exceeds it - but during a writers strike where the promo has been much more grassroots and reliant on social media AND during an era in which none of the songs have even charted...it makes me happy that her fan base and the GP are showing up for her in a way I didn't know they would. xDiamondx Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I think (hoping) this is the album that will notch her a nomination in the big 4 fields. I honestly hope she releases a Belasco live version of the album because it is 1000% phenomenal.
BravoTangoWhiskey Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 (edited) Did I miss something, how did the insta reel of DTY suddenly shoot up to 4.6m, I swear it was 1.6m when I checked last night for the record, lighthouse is 1.3m, me 5.6m and FKOH 5.9m those are some fast nos for DTY Edited June 27, 2023 by BravoTangoWhiskey

KellBell Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Magic keeps growing on me even though I've been loving it already. Also, the transition from this declaration of love and faith in that love in magic to the heartbreaking end in lifehouse is such a gut punch. 1 1
xDiamondx Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 One thing about red flag collector is she's hinting at a country album being closer to a reality. It's a good start even if I don't necessarily love it as much as the other tracks because she's a natural at it. Kelly also needs to do more songs like 'chemistry' and 'magic' because of how ethereal they are. 1
Julianna Calm Down Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 can we just take a moment and appreciate this woman for a minute not only has she delivered one of her most solid albums, with impeccable angelic vocals but she's been busting her ass this week doing promo and did so with a smile on her face always respectful, always taking her time to interact and talk to people - fans and all. also, the interviews she's done so far, she's done in a classy, composed and respectful way while answering difficult questions about her personal life and the songs on chemistry and the cherry on the cake is her album is selling more than any of us thought, and she's number one worldwide on itunes. she also looked fresh, sexy and cute during her recent promo stint, and she seems to be in the best of places. i'm a proud fan of kelly's on so many levels. i would be even more of a fan if she replaced i hate love, red flag collector and me for some of her more personal songs that she's sitting on but hey ho 4

It's so fun, catchy, and sarcastic. Like in the same vein as you can't win and how i feel, which are personal favorites of mine. the tone is just so kelly. 1

I love that's right too the chorus is so good Also, skip this part is so so so good. I love the lyrics, the "ache before the mend" gets me every time. (I wish they didn't do the happier than ever production at the end tho). 1

Not a single skippable track on this album. Unlike Meaning of Life and Piece by Piece.
jpsketch Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 lemme go buy 1000 copies the streams, I simply don't get. C'mon y'all!
BravoTangoWhiskey Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 So the difference between physicals and streams is 8,900 which x 1,500 gives premium stream album equivalent (13,350,000 domestic premium streams). Need a bit of a streaming push ngl 1
