That's not me ^ LMAO.

But yes, it's a smash. Interesting co-writer, too. :eli:

When y'all hear it, you'll understand why it wasn't suitable for the first single(s).

That's a good sign as I remember her talking about Invincible quite a bit before it was announced as the second single. (Hopefully its a better song though).

Also it sounds like another song was possibly gonna be the single before they decided on mine

Yep sounds like it. How realistic would it be for her to release single 2 right as the album drops? It's only 2 months away wouldn't really give Mine time to do anything radio wise (assuming it does at all)

They said they couldn't make out what that word was. I'm guessing they only got to hear it once.

My favorite kind of High is giving me Watermallon Sugar High vibes.

Honestly, I'm more on the "Lighthouse" side of things.

Or at least based on the info y'all have been feeding us.  :giraffe:

Gosh, Piece by Piece is a lovely album, isn’t it? I mean sure “Heartbeat Song” is cheesy but it’s good and “Someone”, “Take You High” and “Piece by Piece” is a career highlight three-track run? The lyrics to “Someone” are immaculate, “Take You High” sounds nothing like Kelly has ever done and still since, and “Piece by Piece” is such a punchy title track.

It’s her best album and most cohesive.

Today's update:

mine: 2,042,700 (+274,367)

me: 925,400 (+116,654)

Strongest day this working week

Yesterday's update, will update today's one when it comes out later

mine: 2,279,004 (+236,304)

me: 1,055,869 (+130,469)

Total chemistry era so far: 3,334,873

________

Re the streaming numbers, from what I've said before, I wouldn't be surprised if Atlantic are trying to get the overall album numbers higher with this kind of strategy (double release plus mid tempo releases at the start). The last audit I did on my spreadsheet (2023-04-01), MOL project (so album plus all remixes) was 238,088,161 on Spotify without a single song over 100,000,000 and LSS being the only one over 30,000,000 (which are quite poor numbers considering year of release). That said, LSS went platinum due to strong iTunes sales, but that is no longer a thing.

From last reading, just before the mine/me release, this was MoL project:

  1. LSS total 89,865,646 (9,812,927 in remixes and 80,052,719 in the album track)
  2. IDTAY total 28,981,385 (1,748,287 in remixes and 27,233,098 in the album track)
  3. Heat total 26,070,383 (3,449,384 in remixes and 22,620,999 in the album track)
  4. WLW 19,037,336 (as much as I thought this was a corny track, this should've been a single - was a hit waiting to happen tbh)
  5. Meaning of Life 13,326,212
  6. Move You 9,550,207
  7. Medicine 8,372,596
  8. Slow Dance 8,073,914
  9. WYCTL 6,564,432
  10. Didn't I 6,454,432
  11. Go High 6,016,345
  12. Cruel 5,903,492
  13. Don't You Pretend 5,629,050
  14. A Minute 4,242,542

They've also since learnt about Broken and Beautiful which is currently 126,587,807

My guess would be, prior to the album we'll have a few songs dropped (also with mine and me - and the second single - on the track listings), but I'd imagine by the time the album release comes, mine hopefully would be past the 20m mark and me past the 10m, but the second single would give the album launch some attention streaming wise and go past the LSS.

Essentially, what I want to see this era re streaming numbers is second single hits 100m on Spotify by the end of the year, mine above 35m, me above 15m and a smattering of other songs approaching 5-10m. My guess would be depending on success of second single, they might release a third before xmas period, or wait for xmas period to end and release something Jan to capitalise on SCYHM and UTT streamers

And to reiterate, I just like analysing numbers, I couldn't care too much about the chart positions, but I like to see the streaming numbers as a barometer for how the project is doing (longevity > cute quick lil singles with peaks but no legacy)

For me, I listen to music while I work (9-5 life). but on weekends if I'm out or just at home, the tv is on or im just playing on my phone. I'm thinking a lot my fall into this category?

That’s probably it, plus commuting I guess for those non wfh’ers :)

I really hope her team sort out her certifications in the USA as they don’t auto update like they do elsewhere. Especially as certifications would be a better indicator of how each song/album does. Broken & Beautiful surely must be platinum eligible by now as Spotify SPS equivalent is 800k (granted that’s global but it’s only one service) and SCYHM must be gold eligible.

Anyone got the letter KC wrote after the incident at the MTV awards with Taylor Swift and Beyoncé? :gaycat4:

I didn't mean to cause outrage with KC fans. I love her. I think she's a great girl with a great voice. I just think this material is beneath her talent
