Topaz Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 it sucks bc shes said before that she would only wanna go on 1 or 2 more world tour so she'll probably retire in 2 albums or not take music as seriously after those 2 eras are up.

She'll start touring at the beginning of 2024, and wrap up at the end of the same year, hitting almost 40. And we all know she takes 2-4 years between the albums, so yeah I guess she will only do 1 more WW tour. I do not expect an official retirement, just a long hiatus with a stand along singles here and there. She is not Tina nor Cher nor Madonna, and let's face it not even Gaga who really created a pop culture moment early on and has a loyal following who will always come to see her sing (only) Fame(monster) and BTW albums and shallow song. Katy is aware of that, and that's why she now calls herself a business woman. I can't remember when was the last time she said she's an artist, a singer or something like that. That's a sad thing to accept for me as an OG cat who turned 30 last month as she really influenced my teen years and early 20's. But, now i can see that she deserved to be happy and have a life besides singing. I have so many lines from her songs that i really connect with 1. I'll be the one defining who I'm gonna be - when I was feeling down and as a failure 2. am I awake, am I sleepwalking? - to try to remember to live my life and experience things without feeling shame 3. I'm leaving my fingerprints, in the end - when trying to make something and impact lives of the ones I care for and many more

The Next Day Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) Just watched Unconditionally again after probably years and wow it almost made me tear up. Even when it came out I was absolutely fascinated and just stunned. The execution is flawless. The imagery is clever but accessible. All the scenes convey emotion while not feeling cliché. The flowers are my favourite part. The scene looks absolutely gorgeous and it's beautiful imagery. It's one of the first things I think of when I think of Katy Perry. It's kinda sad Unconditionally got eaten up by Dark Horse cause although DH has a great video as well, it's not on Unconditionally's level. Barely any mainstream videos are on its level. It's one of those rare music videos that you never get tired of watching. Edited September 15, 2022 by The Next Day
