The way everyone just accepts Janet's run from Control to Velvet Rope is immaculate so all we have left to argue (since Janet refuses to release literally anything) is:

Allah For You vs Damita Jesus

20 H.O.E vs Dissociated

I was going to add JJ vs. Elm Street, but really who actually cares enough to fight over these?

I will say though that Come Give Your Love to Me is Janet's best pre-Control song and is better than two thirds of Disaster.

There's many songs from Joe Jackson and even Hooker Street that are better than a lot of post-2006 songs.

I know she had Latoya and Rebbie shaking when they heard If It Takes All Grammy Night.

Are we ever getting new music? 🤦🏼‍♂️

No.

But with artifical intelligence rapidly advancing we'll eventually get to hear Black Diamond (Kyoko's Version).

Every body knows the debut album is better than the sophomore album! The Magic Is Working :flame:

:rip: at Elm Street.

I hope Come Give Your Love To Me will at least be an interlude on the next leg! That really is her best pre-Control song.

Nelly will be there too. Time to stop ignoring one of her most streamed singles.

I was thinking about the All For You tracklist and decided to make an alternate one:

Spoiler
  1. Trust A Try
  2. You Ain’t Right
  3. Son Of A Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You)
  4. Truth
  5. Someone To Call My Lover
  6. All For You
  7. Would You Mind?
  8. Love Scene
  9. Come On Get Up
  10. Who
  11. Feels So Right
  12. Doesn’t Really Matter
  13. China Love
  14. When We Oooo
  15. Better Days

I think starting off with the heavier songs and moving into the lighter ones may work best. I also thought about starting with "All For You" as the first track and then 'Who" as track 2:

Spoiler
  1. All For You
  2. Who
  3. Trust A Try
  4. You Ain’t Right
  5. Son Of A Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You)
  6. Truth
  7. Someone To Call My Lover
  8. Would You Mind?
  9. Love Scene
  10. Come On Get Up
  11. Feels So Right
  12. Doesn’t Really Matter
  13. China Love
  14. When We Oooo
  15. Better Days

Nightmare on Elm Street is just garbage and by far the worst thing she's ever done, I wouldn't mind it being removed from all steaming platforms.

Her debut has some salvageable material, like Come Give Your Grammy to Me (I agree that it's by far the best song on her pre-Control discography. It's the only song from those years that I would looove to see her perform live) and The Magic Is Working.

Janet continuing to influence and get people covering her songs, even from heavy metal rockers! :foxaylove2:

Pottsville rockers Crobot sink claws into Janet Jackson’s ‘Black Cat’ on North American tour

As Crobot crosses the paths of hard rock fans across North America this summer, the Pottsville natives have unleashed their feral take on Janet Jackson’s 1990 hit “Black Cat.”

Dropping today on all major streaming platforms via Mascot Records, the new single brings out the built-in heavy rock elements and crossover appeal of the Grammy-nominated 16th track on “Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814.”

“Every time we talked about covering a song, ‘Black Cat’ would come up as one we wished we had written, so here’s our chance to pay homage to the great Janet Jackson. It’s got all the things that go into the Crobot sound – badass riffs, a funky groove for days, and soaring high vocals. What’s not to like about this tune? It’s even got cowbell!” vocalist Brandon Yeagley explained.

Livestream video of them talking about recording Black Cat (a little over the 23 minute mark)

@PopThatCorn and another one to add to the list of Janet Jackson covers for your blog :gaynetcat2:

I just found a site that has a bunch of multi-tracks and stems of a lot of music including a whole lot of Janet songs for download  and Go Deep was one that I was always curious to hear of the different vocal layers and background melodies.

There's one track from the stems of Go Deep that is titled "Gossip" and it's a crack up! :lmao:It's got a whole audio of Janet, Tina, Shawnette and a few other dancers basically talking random things and vibing/singing along to Go Deep, most of which didn't even make the final released mix of the song! The ending is hilarious!

Barbie Dreams has managed so far to chart on the New Zealand Hot Singles Chart at #18, giving Janet her first top 20 entry since Feedback, which peaked at #17 there back in 2008.

Hot Singles isn't the main chart that Feedback charted on though.

Oops, you're right. I just realised there's the official top 40 singles chart and the Hot Singles chart which tracks "The 40 fastest-moving tracks by sales, streams and airplay." released for that particular week I assume.

Which then means this is Janet's first entry on that particular chart then.

Is there a reason why the video remix to Anytime Anyplace isn't on streaming? It annoys me so much.

Sad to hear about the passing of her musical director Daniel Jones. :(
