Seems like a joke to me. The certification rules are the same for EVERY artist.

gerardsuxx Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Teenage Dream all the singles sold at least 5M pure sales too biggest era in the us of all time
Squall Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Those fan accounts saying it was eligible for 11x Platinum while PRISM was at 7.3M units
ChandlerBing Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 How many certifications in total do TD and Prism singles have, does anyone know?

Smile is probably not yet eligible for Gold Sure , slay a bit with that gold certification 21 clearly sold much more & could've gone well past 4 songs had Adele not stopped pushing it, with a 4 million SPS boost as it is-several album tracks reached 2×Platinum. But no other album in music history has produced as many big Hot 100 hits as Teenage Dream: 5 #1s & a #3 original; 6 #1s, 1 #2 & 1 #3 after its rerelease. Rhythm Nation 1814 still holds the record among albums with no reeleases, 7 Top 5s, 6 Top 2s & 4 #1s. RN1814 had 1 more Top 10 Airplay track after the label stopped releasing singles too. TD did sell 3 million which only 12 other 2010s albums did within the 2010s, which is a major accomplishment.. Imagine Dragons Night Visions did cross 3 million mid 2020 though. So comparing 21 & Teenage Dream is more complicated than it seems. 21 with just over 12 million pure outsold TD 4:1 & 2× every 2010-present non-Adele album but 1989. But no other album in history has produced close to 6 million SPS either.

Swift fans I need an update if I'm wrong. So 1989 probably is past Diamond but Scooter may just want to deny Swift the honor.
