I’m sorry but this seems pathetic  

 

when Katy had 9 #1s from one album, when she was at her peak the album was only 3 platinum (2015 update) and in 2020 (she went through her worst eras after 2015) her album got 5 platinum certifications more? Seems like a joke to me.

It’s because in 2015 album certifications was only based on pure sales, when it gets recertified in 2020 those massive single sales and streams were included all at once.

What? She had 6 #1's from Teenage Dream not 9 

 

And Katy is not the only artist which their certifications jumped a lot after SPS were included.

The Fame Monster jumped from Platinum to 5x Platinum 

Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans jumped from 2x Platinum to 7x Platinum

Eminem's Recovery jumped from 4x Platinum to 8x Platinum
