It truly is :jonny5:

To think EAT ME outstreamed Substance :deadbanana2:

The single should've gone like this:

Lead single: 29 - very accessible and radio friendly + it went viral.

Second single: EAT ME

Third single: 4ever 4me - relatable love song with a nostalgic sound

Upon hearing the songs, I honestly think Substance is the most radio friendly, I can't believe it didn't do well :mazen:

Eat Me is a great song though, so I understand why it's doing better. I still love Substance, I'm selfishly happy it's like a gem in Demi's discography despite being a single. It's so good to sing it out in the car!

The better song won. It should have been the lead single. The impact the song with a music video would've had, but of course all of her team is USELESS

She's looking so freaking good. I just know Brendon is cooking something as we speak. 2025 better be good for her :jonny:

Substance was kinda overshadowed by 29's viral moment. Substance barely stood a chance the moment 29 dropped lol. I'd even say 29 is even more radio friendly btw but Substance is the superior song overall. Idk there's something about it... it is one of my favourite Demi singles ever. The music video is also so good. She finally served a good music video.

Demi's cover of I'll Be Home For Christmas is seeing its best year on streams! It has already accumulated over 4m streams in two weeks. It crossed 30M streams two days ago. It's getting better playlisting that Holy **** :lmao:

Also, can't they turn Demi's Christmas song from last year into a Christmas EP? I'd LOVE to have a Christmas project :weeps:

I really hope that seeing Selena, Miley and Ariana getting this much talk on Awards shows like Golden Globes and even the Oscars motivates Demi to get back to the game. Hope she realizes she's wasting her potential and still has time left in the industry and many possibilities.

What was Miley nominated for? Was it acting? Btw i know everyone calls Demi a horrible actress for her ancient Disney projects but Ariana used to get called a bad actress too and now she's getting acclaim. I think Demi has said that now that she has her bf and love and whatever "she doesnt need the industry as much" though. Unfortunately for us

A song for The Last Showgirl.

She didn't really say that though. She said that she had thought of stopping doing music because she didn't feel passionate about it but it was her main source of income so she really can't. However, a few months later she changed her mind and said she felt excited about new music again :lmao:

Honestly, I think being with Jutes is helping a lot. If it weren't because of him, who still wants to make it big in the industry, we would've probably lost her forever. Jutes probably encourages her to keep releasing.

She needs a really good song to get a hit, like something that stands out critically and/or commercially bc her fanbase is not that big or not putting in the work to give her a hit anymore, sadly. The streams for you'll be ok kid are a disaster. Maybe thats why she feels discouraged from releasing. Maybe she should try working with a producer thats not oak, not that i don't like him but she always works with him.

I would love to see her acting again in a musical like Selena or Ariana but i doubt it will happen lol. At least she's looking really good lately.

She's lost all the power she ever had. There's no interest for her music right now, and the worst part is that even if she released the best music of her career, most people wouldn't appreciate it because "she's a flop". In my opinion, it's not only a matter of releasing a good song. It's a combination of many factors: music, her label and Demi herself. It doesn't matter how good a song is if she's going to pay it dust, same goes for her label. 29 was about to become a hit and Demi refused to shoot a music video because "she was too busy rehearsing for the tour". And all her label did was send it to pop radio and call it a day. As if the song was going to blow up on radio just because of that.

She must change that mindset. If she (or her team) wants to see any success, they need to WORK. Demi has never been the type of artist to get a hit out of nowhere. Even her sleeper hits have been sleeper hits because she promoted them everywhere until they clicked with the audience.

Sadly, Demi releasing a good song is not enough to get a hit. She also needs TV promo, good visuals, and streaming and radio support.

Heart attack was pretty organic imo. I remember it stayed at one on iTunes for at least three days which would be insane for todays Demi lol. But i think ppl here are like that saying she's a flop, bc Demi is more a pop rock girlie than a bubblegum pop like they like them. Do you think if she released something similar to the songs Sabrina is releasing and sang in a "softer" way (i keep hearing the complaint that she "screams") she could get a hit? Or ppl just heard Demi Lovato and say no lol

Demi singing in a softer tone would be good because it would show a different side of her. People would not recognize her so the chances of doing better increase automatically. :lmao:

Sadly, for most people, especially in the stan world, anything associated with Demi is a no. They will act like she releases the worst music in the industry only because it's her.

I'm really curious to see what's going to happen next era, starting with the sound and then what her new manager has in mind for her.

It's funny bc her albums get pretty good reviews from critics though.

And Ive noticed ppl here calling her a flop all the time they they stan ppl like jojo lol i know she had a hit in the US but i had no idea who she was before atrl. Demi was a main Disney girl in her prime and has more spotify listeners even now lol.

I've already kind of resigned myself to the idea/fact she wont be commercially successful anymore but i hope she can at least find more critical acclaim bc her talent cannot be denied.

Singing in a softer tone i think could benefit her, all those whispery atmospheric songs from Billie, Olivia and even Selena were successful lol.

Btw, i can't believe i love me outstreamed the song with Ariana.

Heart Attack was probably her most instant hit but that was thanks to GYHAB smashing earlier and X Factor kind of giving her a new audience. Even then her leads always debuted in the top 40 and once pop radio was on board she always snagged a top 10 and then pop radio would carry her subsequent single like they did with confident, neon lights/RDC (ignoring MITUSA) and GYHAB and her digital sales were always solid.

She had that streak going on until the 2020's when streaming really makes or breaks a song and her streaming is just so mid even when radio was getting on board with I love me and digital sales were good she just wasn't getting enough streams for it to do anything substantial outside of first week and it wasn't a great song either.

She's basically starting from 0 all over again, she needs to market herself more to Gen-Z and work on better streaming support you're right.

Demi did sing in a softer tone in a couple of songs in DWTD:TAOSO, and she seemed to have some momentum after her documentary, a shame the froyo incident scuttled that momentum.

Well I prefer their Holy **** vocals anyway, even if GP doesn't like it as much. Plus seeing Chappell Roan's recent success, maybe the breathy vocals are not needed for success. I'm curious to see what happens if she goes back to pure pop for her next album. Or maybe she could release a one off single and get another hit in Latin America.

I kinda Hope she invests again on The UK.

IBHFC was on top200 on Spotify There... There's some interest...

I dont believe in anything for her in the US, but she still can get some Little hit on the UK/Latin America

The Way You Don't Look at Me remains top 5 Demi songs ever. I really hope she can look back at this album and appreciate it in the future. :cries:

Does anyone else get suggested lots of Demi hate videos on YouTube after watching stuff with her? Lol one was Demi the messiest popstar of her generation and another was in spanish saying camp rock was the biggest Disney flop.

On one hand im curious to see her doing pure pop again, but she seemed happy going rock, she had that underrated Slash collab.
