Since I don’t pay much attention to other artists on the charts can someone let me know if a video would matter at this point for BMS? With  the short attention span the GP have, will the video be enough to secure a #1? Has an artist gone 4 weeks without an music video for a single and it make a difference?

Refresh my memory ??

Video helping is dependent on the aim of the video, dance craze can help a lot, regular video will NOT.

I will say it should help sustain the song and era, radio will only hold so long without fan engagement I fear.

Also, they likely wont be embracing her second single as much if she fumbles this release.

She really ****** up her momentum with Formation and its release strategy.

Yes.  We need a strong start because we want radio to remain involved throughout the era! Very important. What’s better than 1 top 10? Two! Or Three!

I feel like we aren’t really realizing how insane it is that she has a solo top 10 single sitting stable on the charts, especially after the last few releases underperforming. The way she put egg on the faces of every person who doubted her on this cursed sight:clap3: and doing it at the ripe age of 40

with little to none promo! I can complain as much as I want but at the end of the day this b*tch is a legend, just constantly exhibiting queen behavior, you just gotta stan!

This is the best part about the silence imo. She letting mfs know I can still put out music and be stable at 40.

Yeah I think blocking formation really hurt her in the long run, streaming wise. And then not having a clear second single WW between hold up/sorry.

That’s why I was excited about a traditional rollout because that would allow the optimum opportunity to catch up. But we’ve had anything but traditional since the album date announcement. So I’m not holding my breathe.

Its not a big accomplishment though.

Formation and Hold Up and Sorry would've all been Top 10s, maybe even #1.

Drunk In Love peaked at #2 only cause Dark Horse was massive at the time.

Formation wouldve been Beys first #1 debut on the Hot 100 with that video, in that moment, with that song. It was literally secured and she said no to it.

Childish Gambino turned around and got everything Formation had coming with "This Is America"

The way the formation tour has not been topped production wise by any female :gaycat2: its really giving them meltdowns:gaycat2:

Also screaming at more ivy park

I think having a top 5 hit on radio is indeed massive for Beyonce.  This is a woman, who was unable or unwilling to penetrate POP radio and radio, and now it;s happening effortlessly.

I agree though That Formation really was the first "This is America" and should have had the number 1 spot and sorry would have been top 5 for sure.

But now, we are going to celebrate our wins 1 at a time.  Sis is on all streaming platforms, and radio is back in the palm of her hand.  It's only up from here.

I think the silence is mostly because Parkwood is trying to finalize the visual album. Last minute footages (Big Freedia in BMS for example), post-prod, editing. Which is pretty much on point for her, she pretty much finished Lemonade the day of release. There's not much time for her to do anything right now.

We also have many leaks/info about different shoots since last year for all to be just for BMS. If the visuals don't drop on release date, they will drop soon. I'm not too worked up about it.

Also last thing I want is for her to release a half assed video for BMS just to satisfy y'all short attention span :gaycat: She obviously wanted more time to make it right. Like every single album release y'all have had meltdowns during the roll outs this isn't news :gaycat:

She was never unable to penetrate pop and we all know it. It was an intentional self harm for whatever reason. I can’t even blame Tidal because not even Jay did that to his own album.

Till this day the feelin myself video has not been released ?That was another potential too 5 that was denied.  What weird times we are in as fans of  (imo) greatest artist of our time. MJ would never not allow mass consumption of his art. Idc what fans say, it doesn’t make sense. Taylor and Adele did it and they both have 2 AOTY wins.

:smitten: Interesting! If I'm not mistaken, Chartmasters has never included Dreamgirls as an individual B album before. I'm guessing it's either because it cleared some units threshold, or the fact that B is on more than 50% of the record and "Listen" is by leaps and bounds the big-seller. (About to go read further)

Very impressive that 100M is in her sights as a solo act, especially if:

- Halo & Crazy In Love continue to firm up her "chart-hungry era" catalog totals.

- 7/11, Drunk In Love, Love On Top, Formation, and Partition drive up units for her 2010s career and help 4, ST, and Lem clear 10M units each

- The Gift continues its slow transformation into a formidable era in itself (tracks above 100M streams, TikTok virality, editorials about the birth of Afrobeats on the world stage, Awards, etc)

- These new albums do well.

I specifically remember this day very well. Immediately added Bigger, Find Your Way Back and Ja Ara E on Spotify. When BIK dropped a year later I realized what a gem Key To the Kingdom was.

All these songs are so nostalgic to me now, wish I could go back to that time. This record was actually a big deal in countries like Nigeria and Ghana, I just wish they had official charts

I remember the prediction threads too though on here, whew Chile, twas a mess. :toofunny3:
