Not to go off topic but I went down the Reddit unpopular opinions rabbit hole and as expected Taylor has taken over the “overrated” narrative that once belonged to Beyonce. BUT when they drag Taylor they always include a “but” to say that they think she’s talented and a nice person but her music is boring. With Beyonce they’d say anything to deny her talent and make up reasons to make her out to be some villain. Hm

Is being obtuse a habit or a character flaw?

Two guesses why the users at Reddit are more favorable to a non melanated pop star than a Black one...and the first guess dont count 🙄

I came across a viral tweet and a tiktok dragging bey for her silence. The woman in the tiktok was crying saying she won’t be supporting Beyonce anymore and rethinking how she supports all artists in general (but Beyonce was the main focus ofc).

I wonder how long this Beyonce boycott will last and if it’ll affect her sales going forward. Also lol but people do the most with their cringe online activism. They might as well not buy from any brand or listen to any music. The world is so black and white now.

so i ended up watching it 3 times lmao

we are all really so lucky to be living in the same era as Beyoncé. this was insane. she didn't reveal much per sé (although there was the surgery confirmation and blue's process was definitely emotional to watch) but i still felt like i learned so much from her. there's so much to read in between the lines, so much wisdom and grace. she really is one of my favorite people apart from being my favorite artist. i took a lot of my irl friends to see it, and they all left the movie full stans.

my only real complaint is the mastering of the audio. it was very, very messy at times... some very important stems and samples were super low on the mix, and some others that weren't as prominent in the show were super loud in the mix. it threw me off a couple of times. i know it was pretty rushed because they had a little over a month to edit, but if they're planning to release this as a live album, i hope they take their time to really mix and master this to the t, it really would make a difference for the better.

other than that, this was amazing. she managed to top homecoming for me. it could feel a tad bit too long for a non-stan, but for me, i couldn't get enough

That’s just a Deuxmoi rumor, not true. A study was conducted however that revealed people who stan AUIYM are prone to partake in wh0re-like activities fueled by poppers. How fked up. AHAP stans would never partake in things like that. What we do has class to it… I’ll say that.

Just got back from the film... what an extraordinary artist Beyoncé is. There will truly never be another like ha! :jonny5:

I'm so thankful we live in a time where technology is advanced enough to capture every angle of this immaculate show :jonnycat: I need the live album ASAP

One obvious point that was intentionally made in the editing was the presence of "PARIS IS BURNING", but much like the presence of the visuals snippets that was displayed at the live shows, they fumbled the opportunity to have a real ball. Having fans vogue outside or on stage. She already had everybody dressed up, we were so close 😅!

Internationally the film didn't do so well. People are probably not interested in the documentary side. If she releases this on streaming, she should offer two versions. One without the edits, just the full concert from beginning to end. I bet it would made huge numbers. In this case, Taylor was right to go full concert. The documentary is nice for her longtime fans but some people probably just want to see the performances.

Although a strictly concert film is advantageous for movie-goers, she delivered an amazing film here, the direction was incredible. She can really be proud of herself. She could have gotten better numbers with promotion overseas, the promotion here was almost inexistant. Still 6.4M is not tragic.

It’ll have no impact on her sales

I loved the movie. It was great to see the tour again and I grew new appreciation for the show as a whole. I only wish the docu parts went deeper in and she actually shared more of the process cause it all barely scratched the surface. The "I'm a boss surrounded by men who try to fool me" parts are cool but we've seen that already in Homecoming, I Am Tour and other instances before.

The cinema was only about 60% filled though and it was a Saturday evening show in the capital's biggest mall :deadbanana2:

Lets officially close the door on act i Bey please.

Time for act ii and lets leave uplifting poc and marginalized groups behind.  Bc the GP loves coming for ppl that do something but not everything (Bey) while supporting people that do nothing (all the other pop girls and guys).  Theres no reason one movie in Israel that barely made a monetary dent is being focused on more than the blockbusters.

Put the dream on ice and give us something fresh.

And she just said in the film that she spent her whole career doing that. She’s happy when she uplifts someone. There’s nothing that can make us think that she’ll change now.

Anyway, it is the right thing to do. She’s not doing compromises, and in result she’s giving better art. IASF is her worst album, and that’s for a reason. She’s an artist and through her art she reflects things that burden her. Does anyone wanna hear her do sixth “in love” song about Jay Z? By caring about marginalized she gave us Lemonade and Renaissance, two of the best and most acclaimed works of the century. I think she’ll do great. Almost 30 years in business and still smashing.

A film is not the same as the visuals, so let me pray this was about the Renaissance tour film before she changed her mind.

her visuals have been “films” since lemonade. I can only imagine this was going to be the biggest one yet

But I don't think this would be about the music videos/visuals. Or if it really is, this was before she changed her mind because she has ALREADY made it. And she has been shopping it to streaming platforms. And for whatever reason, the whole thing has been left in limbo.

Sadly I do believe that she changed her mind and decided that the tour movie will be the 'visuals' for the era.

Then why not just tell us that, instead of keeping us wondering for ever and ever? :toofunny2::toofunny2::toofunny2:

As fans, we just want honesty and transparency...

Like, if it keeps going on like this, we'll only be sure of the state of these visuals when she decides to release a new project and there's no 'act ii' in the title!

I mean.. 'you are the visuals baby' being in the movie and on t-shirts is pretty telling.

:clown:

Disrespectful and in poor taste, but pretty telling.

Yeah, this movie was the closure for me regarding the visuals.
