I gotta be honest with y'all at this point I will be fine if she just drops an album Q1/Q2 of next year and just abandon it, cause let's be real with ourselves that is what was gonna happen either way

Releasing another album with no tour to follow would be pointless.

She’s not going to rush to record anything between filming commitments (because she still has to record the soundtrack twice) and I think she knows we were unsatisfied with the lack of content for positions that we’ll have a better era with visuals and at least one major live performance that culminates in a tour.

I agree.

A Positions 2.0 Era>>>>>>No proper album until 2026. :rip:

Not releasing an album next year would be career suicide :rip: She's N/A on BB200 and H100, barely clinging on to Top 5 on Spotify's most streamed female artists chart, and the only time people seem to be talking about her is bc of her face.

If she cared about lack of content she would've done more for the pos era, i get it there was a pandemic and all that but still, she did more for the syt remix (thank you abel) than she did for her entire album. That is kinda an over exaggeration but still.

And don't get me wrong I love her down, but it's obvious she doesn't want to be a popstar so the next era will be a positions 2.0 and if we are lucky we'll get a video for the 3rd single this time ?

Yeah, I don't think she really gives a f*ck about putting out content to create a "complete" era, let alone being a popstar in the limelight. I'm just hoping the next album is good. :michael:

She is doing this since Sweetener

So 99 weeks now? 100 weeks would have been possible if it weren't for Taylor and Drake. OMG we are so unlucky. :rip:

Positions re-entering purely through my love language streams yeah I won

I strongly believe Ariana is just burnt out from constantly releasing music or she's just uninspired. If she needs more years to recover then we should just accept it. Of course, taking a long break will definitely hurt her career but hey, she has achieved so much already and has $240M net worth.

I get what you mean. I doubt she’ll even do a third single since she always abandons them but I would hope that after such a long layoff, we’ll get something that feels a little more substantial even for her standards.

I feel like she needs that time to miss it in order for her to really want to push herself to a new place creatively.

Sadly I agree. :gaycat7:I used to say that AG7 has to be a big era with lots of content but its just not realistic.gif

The album has to be a magnum opus though. She really cannot afford coming back with a middle-of-the-road album or something derivative. The image/styling change since 2020 should be followed by a new sound imo. :chick3:

She’s going to give us a house album, but instead of 90’s black queer subculture like Renaissance she’s going to lean towards PC Music/Tumblr neofuturism/whatever they put in British pop music. Sweetener but with a ponytail facelift. Dawn of Chromatica but she actually knows it was recorded. The real white girl. Stay with me!

When we all thought Positions was going to be early 2000s R&B/pop bliss :cries:

Yeah constant release is the key to success in the streaming era. See Taylor, Drake, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd etc. :skull: She's truly ahead of her time tbh. TU,N could be even wayyyyy bigger if it's released in the TikTok era

i hope we get an album next year but also I really feel like an album cycle (a truly artistic album from her please) in between wicked’s 1 and 2 could be great, especially because she’d be attending/ possibly nominated at both the grammys and the oscar’s in the same year for multiple projects

As long as Tommy Brown is not on it and it has different/new sound influences I’m in, idgaf about an era with 10 mvs, deluxes and 8 singles, I just want good music that we all know she can do :jonny5:

I have yet to forgive her the way she threw away positions and thank u, next. :skull:

I hope her return is similar to NTLTC where its a refreshing sound compared to whats currently trending.

TU,N should have had at least 5 singles and a deluxe re-release. All those wasted SPS units :cries:

  • thank u, next (1st single)
  • 7 rings (2nd single)
  • buwyg,ib (3rd single)
  • bloodline (4th single)
  • a song from TU,N (deluxe)[5th single]

She could've given us POSitions Q1 2021 and pushed the era to Q4 2022. They could've released 3-4 singles with heavy radio/tiktok payola support with pre-recorded videos while she's gone filming Wicked. It's not like she does interviews or live performances anyway :rip:

I wish she had a Spotify track ID playlist. I want to see what she’s listening to. I know there’s sumn going on other than showtunes.

I have to agree unfortunately. It's crazy how she went from being so omnipresent to literally being nowhere :rip: It doesn't help that her last album was seen as a disappointment (by some for the quality, by others for the lack of promotion). No album next year would probably cause most fans to move on tbh.

The only problem is that her fans care about content. She's just gonna lose fans if she keeps throwing out albums with no promotion after release day.

Constant releases are important but they mean nothing if she doesn't put any effort into the era. Another era like Positions would 100% underperform.
