4) She stopped interacting with fans, deleted Twitter, doesn't use TikTok properly/for anything but commercial videos, can't even post on Instagram anymore, her feed is a mess and she hasn't bothered to update her fans about anything for ages, the fact that we got to know that she wasn't making an album through a random rem beauty video tutorial is.. shocking.

 

And don't get me wrong she has every right to distance herself from her fans but the bond she had with her fanbase (her being THE celebrity who interacted and followed fans on Twitter, the garage m&gs, hanging with fans, making them listen to her music, always interacting on social media etc) were a big part of her brand and a reason why people connected with her, if you take that out, take the music out and add a lazy beauty brand, nothing good is gonna come out of it, good for her she doesn't care though.

Exactly. While her last 2 albums really are great (although TUN is kinda showing it's age), the era itself has no "replayability". There's nothing to look back to or reminisce about them except that they were dropped.

She really underestimates how much accompanying visuals, performances, etc. can add to the replay value and enjoyability + enjoyment of music. One of the reasons why I enjoy Dangerous Woman over TUNA despite the latter being objectively better.

The thing I don’t like about Ariana isn’t the fact she is inactive it’s how she always ruins a project, idk but she doesn’t seem satisfied about what she’s doing, she does something new then drop after three attempts.
She ditched her music career for REM beauty and rem seems half-assed and just quick money grab, she doesn’t do like what Rihanna did with fenty like she managed to build an entire empire that brand.
Rem is just another failed makeup brands like every celebrities do. 
 

I don’t care if she flops with AG7 she will be humbled a little bit.

Yeah all of this. Ariana isn't an artist like Beyoncé. She can't disappear from the public consciousness and appear years later to drop music and then peace out again. She is an artist of the social media age and a huge part of her brand is her authenticity and personal connection with fans. That's why TUN era was so massive because of the hype she created by posting regularly (and unfiltered) on social media, the public was filled in on what was going on in her life and they were invested in her story so they listened to the album.  I get she wants privacy. I don't blame her but there is balance between the two extremes. I mean I personally don't care that she deleted Twitter and doesn't interact with fans anymore because I never engaged with that anyway but I know it's a huge part of her appeal.

 

If she wants to do the whole Beyoncé thing she better start giving us concept albums with visuals like Lemonade otherwise she can keep it.  What pisses me off about Ariana is she has all the skills to succeed.  She's likeable, funny, has a diverse set of skills/talents including singing, vocal production, production, audio engineering, editing, writing, comedy, impressions, musical theater, live performing, etc. but she doesn't utilize them to full advantage.  She's her own worst enemy sometimes and it's frustrating as a fan because she's capable of more but sabotages herself. 

 

I hope that when she returns (if she ever promotes again ) that she finally hosts SNL again now that Pete left.  And gets that Emmy nomination she was snubbed for because it was post donutgate and she wasn't as big as she is now.

Anyways, I'll be just here listening to the Sweetener le*ks and considering them as new material. It's just to quench my thirst during this drought.

 

More (the version that features Bia) should've been released. Incline thankfully got scrapped and we got Everytime instead. Rush and You are my absolute faves. Jason on Occasion On Top of Everything are fun and cute.

 

I'm still waiting for Not Ok to le*k in full. Other than that, the TUN scrapped songs were really nothing special.

 

I'm still wondering as to how her career would've progressed if Ridiculous' sample got cleared and it became the lead to AG2. It was obvious she wanted to continue and evolve the YT sound with the earlier songs for AG2 like ME, YDKM, Too Close, and Only 1.

 

What's really frustrating is now that she claims she has full control, she barely does anything. Sure, she's miles ahead in vocal producation and vocals alone compared to her peers. However, she does not really showcase them by promotions with live performances. Not everyone appreciates harmonies and layers of vocals. They want iconic performances, iconic vocal moments. Sing, you said you like to sing. That's really the reason people still cling to DW and even ME because they were full-fledged pop eras. Even SWT can already be considered an era before they pulled the plug.
