The way my heart actually skipped a few beats right before I Drink Wine, when Adele started saying like "Wait, before you play this..." I was like ahh is it a new song?? But no, lol. And this really was more about James than Adele, so it would not have been right to start a new album era this way. I'm glad you liked it Rami. I thought Hometown Glory was such a beautiful ending. So yes, the new album dream is still alive. We gotta wait and see if anything happens on 5/5. If nothing else, at least we will get that concert film this year.
Ichinaru19 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 That carpool karaoke was amazing and very cute and touching with the little tidbits of their friendship. I love that she included LIAG and IDW into it, and the cover was amazing even though I don't know that song. Ending with HG was an awesome way as well to conclude for James' last carpool. Glad to see 30 getting this last promo!
Nebur Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Without a doubt, 30 is his best album lyrically. It's a shame that she sabotaged herself in this era like this, but we still had a great album and several performances so we won regardless.
Ichinaru19 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 On another note, did she really she this in her original post? It's interesting to think that this carpool might be a way to conclude the 30 era as well and perhaps a step forward to new music with this upcoming residency. I am holding onto my tickets in hopes!

dfantasy Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 The carpool was such a nice surprise! Watching it now

anti-bitch Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 i mean i respect tiktok as a promotion tool ofc, @Donquizote but i like that it's getting that many views on youtube anyway. and the video clip Adele posted on Instagram has almost 12 million views by now.
Ichinaru19 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 So I'm a bit confused with how this video was pushed out, I thought it was coming out on Thursday? Is it airing on TV then?

Stuart Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 This was probably the last televised performance of hers and she gave us her best singing of the entire era. If she doesn't release a new album this year, at least can she release a studio version of Don't Rain on My Parade ?
Aslan Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) It’s actually slaying on YouTube I thought it would get like a million views in 24 hours since YT is pretty much a dead platform Edited April 25, 2023 by Aslan
Aslan Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 I swear she only knows EOM, IDW and LIAG from 30 We want some love for other tracks (especially all night parking)

And Youtube is not dead really, but people just watch gaming videos and MrBeast and things like that these days. People wanna see something fun. Music videos just don't cut it anymore. But this Carpool Karaoke was both fun and emotional, so it could keep getting millions of views for many days to come. Blackpink got 13M views in 5 days, that would be nice to pass.

anti-bitch Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 @Aslan I just love how much Youtube content Adele has done this era. In spite of everything else, it's been a good way to get her personality out there. I feel like she's more famous than ever now, even if the album numbers weren't so high.

We needed it more than ever after the vegas controversy (that really left a bad taste in people’s mouthes) but yeah she still has a lot of interest in her so she hasn’t completely been written off yet. but honestly the album sales are good despite the streaming age we’re in. Her, Taylor and BTS are the only album sellers of this decade. Her streaming power just needs to improve.

That's where she's missing the streams the most, down the album. 30 is #24 on US iTunes now. And that's just from the Youtube video. It should get another boost from TV airing.

Her 30 tracks are not streaming-friendly due to heavy content, long runtime and too mature. I'm back here because of the Carpool Karaoke and that last song
