Like the #200 song in the US has more streams than the #1 song in Ireland for example. That makes literally no sense at all. You need to compare #s and not chart positions, what good is a #1 in Monaco?

Any data study? Any credible source? If not, you're just talking out of your ass. Some girls here are really losing it because their fave western girls can't not even be 10% as culturally relevant in their home countries as Anitta is in Brazil. I'm screaming.

It's never really an issue they couldn't get in the TOP100 of most countries from Latin America, Africa and Asia. The Global South no longer needs to rely on breaking in western markets to be a part of the conversation and it upsets them. OT: Fun fact - Envolver made it to Mexico's T5 before it even reached the T10 in Brazil. Yes Anitta, Yes GLOBAL. THIS!!!
lipes Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 (edited) Not some people trying to pin this as ‘inorganic’ LOL This is #1 because people are streaming the hell out of this song, and there’s nothing inorganic about that. and also, Envolver hit top10 globally BEFORE it hit top10 in Brazil so like??? How are some of you implying it’s only a hit because of Brazil is beyond me yes Brazil numbers were massive today, but congrats to her for being able to achieve that Edited March 25, 2022 by lipes

Rooting for the song made it super viral that even CNN was talking about the song yesterday. So it's only logical that people that did not know about the song started listening to it and at the same time, helping the numbers grow. You think what, the entire country is a stan base now?

Portugal literally stans any song that smashes in Brazil and that's not because Brazilian people are streaming it from there There are songs smashing in Portugal now that peaked in Brazil MONTHS ago.
4Real Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Imagine being so dedicated to invalidating someone else's success OT: It's already top100 in the US whew smash!

Japan? Italy? They have a high percentage of Brazilians too, what happened there? Germany also, the 6th biggest population of brazilians living abroad. Why is the song not charting high there? And it's also top 100 in the US too On the other hand, there's an almost zero population of Brazilians in Switzerland, what's happening there then? Maybe the number of brazilians living in said country literally means nothing at all? Edited March 25, 2022 by Badgalbriel
Scars Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 (edited) 1 hour ago, Sept said: aka foreign countries with the biggest Brazillian population You can't prove for sure the citizen status or ethnic breakdown of people listening to a song in streaming services. Not only that is a very flawed point as Envolver is a spanish song smashing in most spanish-speaking countries, so it was only a matter of time for Spain to get the memo, but also a very suspicious one. The ethnicity of citizens streaming a song shouldn't be a relevant measure for a song to be considered a legitimate hit in said country. Things would get very ugly if we start measuring the international reach of ATRL's western pop girlies by ethnicity, race or citizen status. Edited March 25, 2022 by Scars
ninasayers Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Damnn, congrats to her. It's cool that the top 2 is Latinamerican
LookinAssHittas Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 I wish it was with one of her better songs, but congrats Anitta!!! She’s been grinding so hard and releasing music for a decade now, I’m glad that she’s finally seeing global success. and I’m screaming at all the white gays in here trying to drag her and call this “inorganic”
Dear Reader Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 (edited) some people in here going out of their way just to call this "inorganic" is sending me it's giving xenophobia Just say "congratulations" and go. OT: Anitta is already a GLOBAL act and that's hard to swallow for some people Edited March 25, 2022 by PopA911
discreetinside Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Congrats Anitta, she deserve it. Now can the Brazillian to push Boys Don't Cry next because it's a bop and smash waiting to happen
Coldpurry Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 The fumes already. Congrats to the #1 girl in the world
Jay L Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Wow that’s impressive Envolver is a major bop she deserves!
gustavothehuman Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 (edited) Y'all saying Anitta's streams in Brazil are inorganic clearly don't have any idea of how massive her reach is, the woman literally reshaped our pop scene to her will Edited March 25, 2022 by gustavothehuman
bocelli Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Not people calling her global when 70% of the streams are from 1 country K-POP teas
