The way no one cares about the charts anymore :skull:

these formulas are so outdated and messed up cuz wtf

They reflect the overall popularity of a song more than ever, it's not the formulas fault that people are not interested in new music. You can blame radio, but radio has been clinging on to songs for years now and it has never been like this. Because New music still broke through previously, but not this year.

next week she's gonna have just one and in a few weeks zero, so this is not a remarkable achievement  :toofunny3:

Weeks in Top 10

36: STAY

26: Bad Habits

22: Easy on Me

19: Heat Waves

11: We Don't Talk About Bruno & Super Gremlin

10: abcdefu

6: Ghost

4: THATS WHAT I WANT

1: Enemy

I wish the biggest songs would go back to 18-22 Top 10 weeks. Having multiple 6 mo+ songs at once lessens the credibility of GOAT charts. Then again, when many of the earlier 2010s hits had these 18-22 wk T10 runs, the entire Top 20 had more points than #1s these days. :cries:

Stay breaks Olivia’s record for most weeks at #2 :clap3:

Ghost & Enemy coming for top 5 peak :clap3:

Bad Habits 26 weeks in the top 10, one more week to ties KMM & SYT for the third longest in the top 10 from a 2021 song :flame:

that's #2?

I figured you wouldn't care as long as its not Adele. Stay got displaced on Streaming Songs by Lol Durks album bomb, meaning it didn't really lose much there. Stay will probably return to the Streaming Top 10 next week.

Whitney Houston set the record in 1995-6 with Exhale/Shoop. Olivia Rodrigo tied it but yeah Stay rewrote the record deserving or not, depending on your view of it.

Whether it deserves it or not, the song broke the record.

I tried to make the statement more neutral by adding the last part, but obviously my post still came across negative.

From Pulse, here are updated inverse point GOAT ranks. I'll go down through Top 500.

TW      LW      Title      Artist      Points

429   581   Heat Waves    Glass Animals    748,756

346   388   Bad Habits   Ed Sheeran   788,080

263   269   Good 4 U  Olivia Rodrigo   827,630  (maybe makes Top 250)

255   303   Easy On Me   Adele   832,896  (probably Top 250 next week)

124   130   Save Your Tears   Weekend & Ariana Grande   947,040   (not sure how far from #100, maybe it makes it?)

24   27   Stay   Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber   1,188,160   (don't know when Top 20)

16   18   Levitating   Dua Lipa, et al.   1,255,730   (maybe Top 15 at some point).

With the expected multipliers, Levitating jumps Usher's Yeah (big inverse points but low real points) & Toni Braxton's Unbreak My Heart (big in both inverse AND real points) this week.  But Stay is closing in on Levitating fairly quickly in inverse (but not real, not yet) points. Levitating may pass Mariah Carey's We Belong Together for #15 GOAT at some point.

I don't want to take too much from their point totals even if I am crediting them for it. But you can find the totals from the Hot 100 (as of 23 November 2021) on page 34 of the given hyperlink. Since that time, Levitating has jumped #32 to #16 & Stay has moved from #567 to #27, pushing songs behind those down.

The GOAT list should not be on inverse points by now when modern songs are charting longer due to radical different consumption and methodology compare to the past.

well it's #32 in streaming songs rn so idk.

...LOL now a random pharrell Despicable Me song is going kinda viral and possibly cracking the spotify top 10 soon? the gp is really so much more interested in old songs and rediscovering old songs than anything new

Radio peaks are obviously also extremely low, but I think still a bit higher than those current streaming numbers.

Like all time peaks, 10th highest and  current #1

streaming: 143 million, 72 million, 22 million

radio: 229 million, 176 million, 67 million

A lot of that is Youtube, yeah. But still. Spotify and stuff is also down a lot for the top songs

I agree with you. Pulse also keeps tabs of real points to an extent. Its on the same link I provided. Also, the rankings for the 2010s changed. Happier was 2010s biggest non #1 when BB ranked them but Radioactive is biggest non #1 now by a big margin. Hopefully they'll tabulate the revamped 2010s H100 soon.

I really don’t understand why no MPGs are taking advantage of this moment. They could release trash and it could be a 5+ week number 1. They’re going to end up releasing around the same time and it’s going to be chaotic

The USA music marketing is so boring right now that we’re not excited for charts untill any relevant song surges to change what’s happening!
