Hector Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 SPOTIFY ALL-TIME TOP 10: HOW BIG IS BIG? We were recently poring over some Spotify streaming stats (readily available on the app to anyone who's curious) and got to wondering: How big do the biggest records get? Chart-toppers like The Kid LAROI's "Stay" (1.5b+ global streams), Glass Animals' "Heat Waves" and Lil Nas X's "MONTERO (Call Me by Your Name)" (both 1.3b+) are clearly enormous. So what are the biggest songs of the streaming era so far? Well, here's a Top 10 list, which shows that you need more than 2b total streams to hit the all-time leaderboard—and well over 3b to wrest the #1 title from Ed Sheeran's mitts. https://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=330648&title=SPOTIFY-ALL-TIME-TOP-10%3A-HOW-BIG-IS-BIG%3F

Michael196 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Closer > One Dance > Shape of You > Blinding Lights > Believer >>>>> the other 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dance Monkey
Jaffery Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Stay will be at #3 by the year end and willl probably end up at #2 or #1 if it has more longevity
SimpleKindofLife Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Dance Monkey didn’t feel as big as it was, at least in the US
ToMmY Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Do we have an idea of how much money those songs have made from streaming alone?
Cutthroat Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I can see Imagine Legends going higher than #10 as well because Believer is constantly re-entering the iTunes charts. Kings.

Arrows Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Surprised by Believer, had no idea it was that huge
99sandthe2000s Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Bad Guy is 7,876,714 streams away from the #10 spot
favorite crime Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Um we can just check Spotify. Post Apple Music's top 10 instead HDD

JBJT2786 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 The fact that 9 and 10 are gonna be rotating for a bit when we have songs like Bad Guy, Don't Start Now and Levitating knocking at the door. Also Abel has that #1 in the bag by the end of the year at the latest.

Artists get $0.003-0.005 per stream so Ed basically got 10-15 million for Shape of You ( probably half once the label and all the other rightholders get paid)

Once you count Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, etc. it's probably at least 1.5x times as much. And then you have to add worldwide radio airplay royalties, TV/ad/film licensing, cover royalties, etc. He probably made over $30M from that song alone.
