TaylenaStan Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 omg Most #1 hits these days barely make it to multi-plat since its super hard to reach that in the UK (1xPlat = 600k units) So it sold 5.4M+ in the UK so far This is basically like being 25-26xPlat in the US
Hector Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Biggest song of all time in the UK in units, not even joking
UnusualBoy Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 I mean, the song was HUMONGOUS, wasn't it #1 for like 12-13 weeks and has excellent recurrent stats?
Tistotal Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 omg It will eventually be the first diamond single there

Streaming helps massively. If the best-selling songs pre-streaming era like Candle in the Wind and I Will Always Love You were released today they'd have much higher certifications. Plus many of the best-selling classics, are still racking up new certs every few years. AIWFCIY by Mariah (currently 6x Platinum) has literally got a new Platinum UK cert every year for the past few years if she can keep up the momentum every Christmas, it could definately become the most-certified/best-selling UK single.
Johnny Jacobs Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 I wonder what Rih would've pulled with it
brianc33710 Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 CITW 97 is pure 4.6 million but probably doesnt have enough streams for an upgrade.
