fridayteenage Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) hmm, and that person not even top 10 on the Year End Album Sales chart. 3 week #1 soundtracks, sea Encanto 93k, 84k, 58k Black Panther 93k...84k or below...34k or below ASIB 37k...45k or below...38k or below...36k or below Unfortunately billboard is stingy with SEA after first weeks at #1, so I just subtracted the album sales and songs in the sales top 10 for an upper bound. Among country efforts, only Taylor Swift’s Fearless has more, with 58 (in 2008-10). Among all genres, Dangerous now has the most weeks in the top 10 for an album released by a male artist since 2000, surpassing the 53 weeks Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) logged in the top 10 in 2017-18. Among all albums released since 2000, Dangerous has the fourth-most weeks in the top 10, trailing only Adele’s 21 (84 weeks), Swift’s 1989 (59) and Swift’s Fearless (58). now i get why the swifties have been having outbursts about this weekly. Taylor has so many records why does it matter if her "country" album Fearless doesn't keep the record. But yikes at him likely taking 1989 (the cultural reset) album. Blank Space alone deserves it. Oh well. records are meant to be broken.

Compared to Dangerous, 10 weeks #1, 2 weeks #2, and 8 weeks #3. He has to spend like I don't know how many weeks in the top 10 just to make up the difference of 14 weeks #1 and 22 weeks #2 (I'm thinking years ). I don't think 21 is in any danger at all for a loooong time to come Edited January 31, 2022 by HeWon'tGo
zoldyck Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 21 record of most weeks in top 10 is not safe. So far his album has outlasted Justin, Billie, Adele, Drake and Ed Sheeran album. He also outlasted albums with insane longevity like Sour and Planet Her. It will require multiple big releases back to back to kick him out of top 10. Otherwise he has a residency in top 10 except for Christmas season.
fridayteenage Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) that man person had 9 weeks in the sales top 10. so that's 45 weeks of being fueled by streams. i...certainly wouldn't have expected a country album of all things to have this kind of endless streaming run. i wonder how many people it is who are streaming him every single week after week after week. Chris stapleton's last release is more typical of a country run: 11 weeks top 10 sales (so more than that person) 2 weeks top 10 sps Edited January 31, 2022 by fridayteenage
