With the $80m investment and an impeccable promo team, I should hope Harry sold more. No expense was spared. Let's not forget that the album was being sold as part of the tickets for his tour. Harry is doing 13 dates in the US at 3k capacities (I wonder if pre-orders were not as they hoped at the time). Haz selling numbers to closer to Zayn would have been embarrassing for him. 

 

As for PT, Z got lucky with the longevity. It had a life of its own so Zayn could get away with doing nothing. This strategy was never going to work for the album. 

 

I like Harry and I don't want to take away from his achievement because he sold the hell out of that album but facts are facts. 

 

Anyway, Zarry can co-exist.

Harry hasnt done any promo Zayn couldnt have done. If he were not so lazy and socially phobic. Its the usual promo circuit. Not even any big award shows to perform on. Unlike Gaga who had major promo gigs that helped her massively when she released. To blame an artist for doing promo is the dumbest thing. Thats their job. Harry didnt even release a video until recently and thats one of the biggest promo tools. Sometimes not doing promo actually works well for an artist. Especially if they suck live or come across as awkward and dull like Zayn.

Exactly  all these Zayn stans talking like Harry doing promo is a bad thing. Zayn did gazillion photoshoots and interviews trashing 1D but cant promote the album thats not harry's fault  

 

And promo doesnt really work like that. Harry can promote like crazy and still people wont care (example: Demi's Stone Cold was literally performed everywhere and it did nothing at all) People are clearly here for him.

 

Harry has the looks, talent, incredible aura, charisma and personality that people love. Watch his Late Late Show videos on youtube. His performances are amazing. Every single one of it. his skits were funny and adorable and his carpool is just UGH  

 That's why people are buying his album.

 

Zayn and his dull, awakward and problematic self CANT RELATE

 

It also doesnt help that Zayn's music is bland, generic and trend hopping. Chris Brown, The Weeknd and Drake are already doing it. And they're doing it WAY BETTER than him

But Harry is just doing the usual TV/Radio rounds. And carpool. Nothing genius or even new. I couldve booked those gigs for him my damn self.

What? Harry had a week long residency at late, late show amongst others. Lol, Harry has a huge machine behind him. How many artists have that level of investment ever? He would not have been allowed to fail. Hence, the stunt with the tickets including albums.

Huge machine? This isnt 1997 anymore. The internet is the biggest promo. Being on some little watched talk show doesnt make people buy your music. Stop the excuses and delusion. Harrys debut song is holding well in many countries. He's not on talk shows there. This idea that you can buy success is utter cobblers. As proven by the fail of many hugely backed superstar artists. Witness Katys demise.
