The fact that Doja's team never updated her US certifications.

She's only been certified with Best Friend (Saweetie) and Dick (StarBoi3) ...

Never understood why some labels don't?

Does it cost money?

Yes, it does. You have to pay the RIAA to do an audit and then they go through shipment records and Nielsen Soundscan to track streams to confirm the eligibility.

It is only worth doing it if it earns you some PR or some kind of recognition.

Top digital single didn’t go to BTS? Why aren’t they asking for certification lol, no way Olivia had that.

so maybe those bot website sales for a certain group was not worth going through all that trouble, esp with the fact that it had to get audited :santa:

No, because for digital singles the RIAA also includes streams for certifications

150 streams is equal to 1 song sale. The ARMY was only able to manipulate the charts because nobody else is selling digital singles and so selling some 100k+ digital singles in a week was enough for a #1. But when they stopped manipulating the sales, there was nothing boosting Butter’s performance. It stalled with less than 2M digital sales and with no GP interest and terrible catalog stats, it is never going to catch up.

For comparison’s sake, Butter is likely to move less units than Happier Than Ever in the U.S. :skull:

Didn’t get the recognition? #1 Hot 100, fastest female single in history to hit 1.1B streams on Spotify and on track to hold future records because it’s STILL Top 20 on Global, on many year end lists instead of drivers license, won awards, Grammy nominated video which is one of the most watched of the year for western artists, #1 pop radio etc etc

Am I missing something? :deadbanana:

But Butter has a "holiday remix" now so it still could reach 2 mil pure.
