Mini Trees – Always In Motion

I thought her 2020 EP was way better. Still love Slip Away. :heart2:

Happy to see Ways To Get Out and Life Support here! I love the intro of Questions.

29. Madison Beer – Life Support

I did not expect to like this album as much as I did. Plenty of bops, and even the slower songs are enjoyable.

Favorites: “BOYSHIT”, “Baby”

yeessssssssssssssssssss. Nice faves

I only know Life Support so far! one of my fave albums of the year tbh :heart2:

Peeked at allie snippets and wasn't expecting those vocals :gaycat3: I've had Wet on my list for probably 2 years now but haven't listened to anything in full yet :oh: Ahhh Sydney & Tigers Jaw would be nearly right up my alley if I enjoyed the vocals more :'(

I don't know... any of these! Let me do some research later!

37. THALA – adolescence

Very lush and dreamy production, there’s not much more to it.

i love this... dreamy is the right word to describe this

FINALLY something I can relate to with Life Support :fan: what a bop of an album, tho generic, it's super fun :fan:

i'm quite the fan of generic sometimes, so she served imo :fan:

#15 – 11

15. Annie – Neon Nights

A very synth-heavy EP that you should like if you enjoy that kind of music.

Favorites: “Just Like Honey”, “Neon Nights (feat. Jake Shears)”, “April (feat. Richard X)”

14. Fauness – Maiden No More

This is a quick EP at only 4 tracks, but they’re really cute songs with some glittery sounding production.

Favorites: “Dragonfly”, “Arrow”, “It Gets Better”

13. Lava La Rue – Butter-Fly

This was also quite the grower for me. Great voice paired with lush production made this a very cute listen. Clairo also provides some uncredited vocals on G.O.Y.D. that she fits really well on.

Favorites: “Angel (feat. Deb Never)”, “Goofy Hearts Club”, “G.O.Y.D.”

12. RINSE – Wherever I Am

He only made a blip on my radar because of his collab with Hatchie, but I’m glad he did. With some noticeable hints of shoegaze, RINSE really hones in on that dream landscape that I’ve come to enjoy so much.

Favorites: “Back Into Your Arms (feat. Hatchie)”, “What Hell I’m In”, “Tamaryn (Wherever I Am)”

11. Maggie Lindemann – PARANOIA

Whew, this output from her was a massive surprise! Prior to this EP, I only knew of 2 songs from her, and they were very different of course. I really enjoyed this style from her and think she pulled it off well.

Favorites: “Crash and Burn”, “Loner”, “It’s Not Your Fault”

#25 – 21

25. LÉON – Apart

This is a lot more enjoyable than her first album. Her voice pairs together so well with these vulnerable songs.

Favorites: “And It Breaks My Heart”, “Crazy/Stupid”, “In a Stranger’s Arms”

h4kt5pe.png

24. Tinashe – 333

I initially had this album placed lower in the 30s, but I switched on it during some recent listens. I appreciate this so much more when I listen to the album in full.

Favorites: “Bouncin”, “Last Call”, “Pasadena (with Buddy)”

DLc9kCA.png

23. Bladee – The Fool

I guess you could say this is sort of hyper-pop adjacent. And this certainly won’t be to everyone’s taste, but he has an ear for some melodies.

Favorites: “Hotel Breakfast”, “I Want It That Way”, “Bby”

22. Maisie Peters – You Signed Up for This

I’ve been following Maisie’s music since 2018 with the release of her first EP, so I was excited to finally hear her first full-length album. There’s a few tracks that are a bit of a departure from her usual singer/songwriter style, which I actually enjoy. It’s a cute effort.

Favorites: “John Hughes Movie”, “Psycho”, “Villain”

21. BENEE – Hey u x

There’s a range of different types of production on here, but each track has got some appeal to them.

Favorites: “Snail”, “Winter (feat. Mallrat)”, “If I Get to Meet You”

21. BENEE – Hey u x

I only listened to it once. :doc: I do love Happen To Me, though.

Apart!!! such a great album, it was in my top 10 of last year and I still love it so much. can't wait to hear the new album

333 is excellent :heart2:

Posted

333 was fine but I prefered her last album, only took a handful of songs

Posted

EPs~ Yesss RINSE :clap3: Wish he got more attention, but the Hatchie collab definitely helped a bit. || Albums~ Apart & Hey u x were both one-listen-only albums for me :fan: We have the same trinity for LÉON. The first 4 tracks are great, then it falls off immediately after and never picks back up. As for BENEE, well I actually don't remember much so maybe everything felt too similar kiiii. 333 :jamming: A nice followup to Songs for You for sure.

Oh whoops! Did a little research and I think you're right.
