Hug Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Hm...agreeable score for Formula of Love! ...maybe I'd have it a bit higher? Idk. Anyway I know that album! I completely forgot Spaceman, all I remember is that it transitioned well from song to song. It can stay there, sure!
K$Ellie Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 2021 Albums great albums that I liked but wasn't obsessed with 40. Sumin & Slom - Miniseries 39. Chung Ha - Querencia 38. Lingua Ignota - Sinner Get Ready 37. girl in red - if i could make it go quiet 36. Faye Webster - I Know I’m Funny haha 35. PinkPantheress - to hell with it 34. Arca - KicK ii 33. Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure? (The Platinum Pleasure Edition) 32. VanJess - Homegrown 31. YOASOBI - The Book 30. Maggie Lindemann - PARANOIA 29. Sleigh Bells - Texis 28. Pearl Charles - Magic Mirror 27. SHINee - Atlantis 26. serpentwithfeet - DEACON Spoiler Chung Ha: some great standouts and a few fillers here and there, would have been an 8+ album if she cut like 4 songs. Lingua Ignota: I appreciate her artistry but never wanna listen to this again! girl in red: didn't know she was so PANNED but tiktok got it right idc this was cute PinkPantheress: all the songs are good, I'm not even gonna say it but we all know x Arca: first 5 songs are EXCELLENT but the album falls off a bit after that, would have been a much better album if the rest sounded more like that Jessie Ware: not as good as the original album but some very cute rejects here! VanJess: Come Over Again is SO good and better than the original ahhhh Maggie Lindemann: hope she continues in this direction, it suits her Pearl Charles: really like the overall sound of this album, nice listen all the way through SHINee: 3rd highest k-pop album, they washed nct a bit this year! serpentwithfeet: better than his debut I think, Sailors' Superstition and Heart Storm are the obvious standouts
kiiwii Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 chung ha paranoia is also really great girl in red glad to see the hate didn't latch on to you too. the panning is undeserved!
potent Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Kinda expected better from Girl in Red, but the album wasn't bad imo Faye's was cute too Platinum Pleasure edition is great Glad to see Maggie getting some appreciation
Sanguine Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 (edited) Good albums except for two overrated ones but they’re not bad so the best are offc Pearl Charles the early-year legend and Faye she’s so funnnny love her Kick II WILL keep growing like it did for me this week. Araña SOTY. Born Yesterday SOTY. etc. Edited December 21, 2021 by Sanguine
TheWayWeWere Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Platinum Pleasure is a blueprint for future deluxes
Lazuli Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 querencia chung ha gave but she didn't really gave to the highest of giving. definitely could do with some cutting! to hell with it, kick ii, wyp? texis a great return to form!
BlackoutZone Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Not 8+ range and you "weren't obsessed with" the inflation Querencia was so promising, but it feels like half-filler, half-interludes, I like the highlights a lot tho Platinum Pleasure serve as expected, PinkPantheres and DEACON very cute Atlantis amazing, they indeed washed NCT this year (not that it was hard), but they've been serving quality Friendly reminder to stream this
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 36. Faye Webster - I Know I’m Funny haha 35. PinkPantheress - to hell with it I liked this set, particularly. Both of them getting 8/10.
Remmy Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Oh just added Magic Mirror to my list of albums to hear hours ago I need Pinkpantheress to make some longer songs or I'm never gonna get into ha... if i could make it go quiet, very cute! I Know I'm Funny haha was fine yeah pretty much nothing new for her. WYP? (TPPE) mmm that was a lovely collection of deluxe tracks!! except for 0208
Ewan Chaos Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 I've seen that Miniseries album on so many lists. I need to check it out. WTF is girl in red doing so high skdhslhdkslhd WOW. Faye & Jessie's re-release being so high tho WHEW. OMGGGGG you putting Pearl Charles so high!!!!! She deserves! Underrated queen!
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Roadrunner, SOUR, LYWW Vol. 3, Dawn, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, LILAC, Formula of Love, Something for Thee Hotties, times and 30 not under 7.0. Certified accalaim Querencia is so good. I blame for Korean GP for letting it flop like it's doesn't make sense to hell with it, KICK ii, PARANOIA, Texis Other than the singes, Homegrown & The Book aren't clicked with me yet
smholiv Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Faye, Olivia, swf, Maggie pink pan there’s etc all slays thinking back to our Maggie era at the beginning of the year!! She really held on huh
TalkThatRihanna Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 I don’t know most of the ones in this update, but maybe I should give that Jessie Ware Extended album another listen I remember not liking it as much as the OG

Silk Sonic was nothing epic, but enjoyable for what it is imo TWOD's album was decent but just kinda samey Screen Violence was definitely better than their previous album! nah that was Human, the filler album On 12/19/2021 at 3:43 AM, Remmy said: DEMIDEVIL + LYWW Vol 3 are both cute projects 30 has a few duds, still ended up being pretty solid. Juno Wow really wasn't expecting Spaceman to almost make the top 50, people really don't understand that Nick knows how to serve a pop bop... Nick's album was surprisingly cute, I was almost embarrassed to put it that high On 12/19/2021 at 11:06 AM, Hikari said: Mood Valiant is a lil bit overhated but we're glad to see it chart here x Sour's placing was fine. Everyone really giving Nick that payola huh? Should we really bother with that album? You could've moved IU and Twice's albums up more. Tho I loved the snail mail album, the rating was fine as well. Indigo on the other hand should be higher! You should've put Remi above Adele at least! Nick's album wasn't bad but I wouldn't promote it to people Twice's album had some filler in the middle otherwise they could have been a bit higher On 12/19/2021 at 2:16 PM, Lazuli said: wow adele missing top 40 formula of love twice never misses with their full albums valentine is cute any shape you take so good SOUR so low tho I thought their 2019 stuff was a lot better than their last 3 albums (including the JP one) On 12/19/2021 at 8:08 PM, BlackoutZone said: This is another decent update, I feel like I barely see you in music section let alone on twitter nowadays so I forget you have taste I'd put BROCKHAMPTON, Olivia or Ashnikko a lower (tho I agree with Demidevil note, it's just a bit too messy), but most of the list got very similar rating from me Agree about SIMBI, how it's not something I'd listen so myself in whole daily (especially since it's a long album), but at the same time it's really damn good and I feel the urge to come back to it often. LILAC big improvement for IU and her often generic crap no shade, Nick served a bit too. Love to see times and 30, both great. Also agree about Formula being more about consistency rather than stand outs, but it's what makes it their best full project for me. Apart from HELLO there isn't anything bad and the highlights are truly great. I sometimes post in music news threads still but yeah Lilac was better than her usual stuff but you should check out Modern Times if you haven't already On 12/20/2021 at 12:32 AM, Ewan Chaos said: Hiatus, Little Simz, Indigo, SG Lewis, Illuminati Hotties, Remi, CHAI Olivia is quite too high esp given what you've decided to put below her tho Olivia probably a bit high considering her album was mostly good for the singles tbh On 12/21/2021 at 1:20 PM, Lazuli said: querencia chung ha gave but she didn't really gave to the highest of giving. definitely could do with some cutting! to hell with it, kick ii, wyp? texis a great return to form! she's done better before but I was happy to get a full album from her finally On 12/21/2021 at 3:35 PM, BlackoutZone said: Not 8+ range and you "weren't obsessed with" the inflation Querencia was so promising, but it feels like half-filler, half-interludes, I like the highlights a lot tho Platinum Pleasure serve as expected, PinkPantheres and DEACON very cute Atlantis amazing, they indeed washed NCT this year (not that it was hard), but they've been serving quality Friendly reminder to stream this they were all really good albums I just never had a phase of spamming them I get what you mean about Querencia, she could have cut a good amount of it to make it better :/ this bops a bit actually, too bad he didnt put out a mini with it 16 hours ago, Ewan Chaos said: I've seen that Miniseries album on so many lists. Pink Matter Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 VanJess, Maggie, and Pearl Charles Twas lowkey disappointed with serpentwithfeet, the best songs were definitely the singles
K$Ellie Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 2021 Albums moving onto the excellent releases this year 25. Arca - kiCK iiiii 24. Tyler the Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost 23. Rochelle Jordan - Play With The Changes 22. Kacey Musgraves - star-crossed 21. Madison Beer - Life Support 20. Japanese Breakfast - Jubilee 19. Yerin Baek - tellusboutyourself 18. REI AMI - FOIL 17. Angèle - Nonante-Cinq 16. TXT - The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE 15. Tinashe - 333 14. Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend 13. WILLOW - lately I feel EVERYTHING 12. Doja Cat - Planet Her 11. Taylor Swift - evermore Spoiler Arca: doesn't have the standouts that the first 3 kicks do but it's more consistent, only my 3rd favorite behind i and iii tho! Kacey: this is way better than Golden Shower idc Madison: way overhated, her music bops Rei Ami: she's so underrated ahhhhh all her music slaps, just needed Mac & Cheese on this mixtape Angèle: she doesn't sound obnoxiously French like Christine does and her music is way better! TXT: the re-release with that AWFUL bside dragged the score down quite a bit but still a great album overall, kinda nostalgic to me now fff Tinashe: better than SFY but Aquarius remains her best, I would put this after Nightride as well but great album from her Willow: she found her sound ahhhhh it's short but there are no fillers Doja: was excited and nervous to see how she'd follow up Hot Pink but she delivered!!! full of bops, only the Ariana song drags it down Taylor: not as excellent as folklore but still one of my favorites from her, she really redeemed herself after Loser
BlackoutZone Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Uh uh GREAT list I wish I liked TXT this year more tho, I ain't really clicking with anything when everyone seems to stan. Ninante-cinq was such a pleasant surprise, amazing album and my favorite album cover of the year too! The accent comment is so funny, but it's understandable since Christine is French and Angele is Belgian nnn Life Support surprisingly high tho, but Im not complaining, its decent
