OreGuy Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 SAVE YOUR TEARS, NEED TO KNOW, and 24 HOURS literally one of the best releases this year. Selena Gomez is sooo random
TheWayWeWere Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 TOP 50 ALBUMS 32 Rita Ora, Imanbek | Bang - EP "You kissed away all of my scars" Queen of dancefloor and dance hits Rita Ora made some points with this collaborative EP. Yeah, this 4-track EP is higher than many albums on my list because how good it is. I love explosive sound of those, catchy melodies, simple but effective lyrics. Everything (beside Mood) are so on point! Wish it was a bit of longer tbh. The One is one the best tracks she ever did, looking forward for her next record - no more How To Be Lonely, sis. And acoustic versions are such a great addition too. highlights: Bang Bang, The One 31 Alessia Cara | In the Meantime "So much harder to be honest with yourself at 20-something" I never get the point how Alessia got a bunch of hits back then, since I never get into her work before, but I randomly saw Shapeshifter video on YT, and omg it was a serve, both musically and visually. In the Meantime were a bit underwhelming after Shapeshifter/Sweet Dream, a bit fillerish, sometimes generic and not cohesive, but it's surely her best album yet, with some of her best lyrics, a bit conceptional and interesting. Sometimes it's a bit repetitive, I think she should go more into alt-pop route tbh, but it's a nice shift from her usual persona. highlights: Box In The Ocean, Fishbowl, Sweet Dream, Apartment Song TOP 150 SINGLES 87 WILLOW, Tyler Cole | Meet Me at Our Spot "When I wake up I can't even stay up" Unlike most of 'The Anxiety' album this track drops off rock persona of Willow to show more emotions in this alt-pop gem, and you just can't deny how earwormy this song is. I'm not a TikTok user, but this song was a bit unescapable for some time, and I was actually pleased with that, because it's actually good and such a comfortable easy listen. 86 Sigrid | Mirror "You were someone who reminded me who I used to be" Yeah, it's another disco pop song, but Idk, something about Sigrid's delivery just make this such a major banger. It's just so catchy, so blasting and driving that I immediately loved this 85 Caroline Polachek | Bunny is a Rider "I'm so non-physical" My alternative queen returns with such an amazing banger, which combines both her weird persona/sound, summer vibes and more pop motives. I just love how original and layered it is, even though it's basically a smash written all over it. 84 Kylie Minogue, Years & Years | A Second to Midnight "Remember back in '99? We danced like maniacs all night" Honestly, after their underwhelming collab on 'Starstruck' remix I was a bit afraid of this song at first, but it turned out to be...great? Still loyal to disco concept of the record, complimenting both Kylie and Olly, this song is fucking banger! Probably one of my favorite songs from the record including original album You just can't sit through this without desire to dance your ass off! And can we just appreciate the video? This (and Kiss of Life) is blueprint of how you do cheap music video good. It's simple, but so effective, and Kylie looks straight out of 1990 THAT Rhythm of Love era look 83 Lana Del Rey | Wildflower Wildfire "I've been runnin' on stardust alone for so long" This is my least favorite song from tringle, I just feel this is most unoriginal one, most obvious standard Lana song, lyricism is beautiful as always, but production/melody goes nowhere and didn't really compliments the lyrics. 82 Mahalia, Rico Nasty | Jealous "All my bitches with me and we paved our way" I already stated how much I love Mahalia and she did pretty good job on all 3 singles she released this year, but Jealous is my easiest pick as a favorite. This is such a banger, it's both r&b and pop, it's influenced by 90s r&b trends, but there's still modern touch, flamenco guitar sound is fucking catchy on it, and Get Your Roll On sample at the end! I imagine if this was sung by Rih, it would've been a big hit. 81 Billie Eilish | Therefore I Am "Get my pretty name outta your mouth" You know, I kinda bopped to it hard for couple weeks when it was released, but it became old very quickly I still like it, it works as a great transition from weird teen Billie to more sexual and mature image of HTE era. I love how sound of this is both a bit of dark and fun at the same time. Achilles. Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 KY&Ylie are fun collaborators. TIA is… a highlight of its album!
dreamofyou Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 not Mood slander for Rita totally agree with ITM, there's 3-5 tracks that seem so repetitive and could've been cut
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 21, 2021 ATRL Moderator Posted December 21, 2021 Wildflower Wildfire is SO underrated. I used to hate TIA but it grew on me! A Second to Midnight is cute! Bang is a choice

On her first album Julia tries to show the best of her, and even though it ended not without some failures/fillers, there's some of her best material ever. I'm glad to see her happy with her sound and image and I really hope she's not going to stop here, she's still has so much to tell. highlights: Undertone, Orange Magic, Lie Like This, Little Did I Know 92 The Weeknd, Ariana Grande | Save Your Tears "You look so happy when I'm not with you" Original song was already a well-written hit, one of the biggest highlights from After Hours, a sister to Blinding Lights with more nostalgia vibe and emotions. I was pretty surprised with Ariana feature, but in the end she fits this song so much, harmonizing, showing vocals and just being herself on a guest song. I just love how she makes already good song even better, making it not a remix with a feature, but a proper duet, I mean I rarely listen to album version since remix release. PS: I wish she served more power vocals in the final part, just as she did during live performance, they're insane! 91 Doja Cat | Need to Know "Sorry if I gave a random erection" I'm in a minority, but I need to confess that I never really loved this song as everyone else It's cute bop, but I find many other tracks from Planet Her being better. BUT this is probably her best solo song to showcase every of her talents - rapping, singing, vocalizing, harmonizing and being incredibly creative (I mean, music video is fucking fantastic). I just love how she never scared to being a freak, to be a little crazy or not like everyone else. She's truly a treasure. Completely forgot Julia released this year, don't think I used anything from it.. Can't BELIEVE SYT is so low! Do love the live too though! 3 hours ago, TheWayWeWere said: TOP 50 ALBUMS 32 Rita Ora, Imanbek | Bang - EP "You kissed away all of my scars" Queen of dancefloor and dance hits Rita Ora made some points with this collaborative EP. Sunderland 4ever Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Therefore I Am and In The Meantime
TalkThatRihanna Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 BANG and Alessia I love to see it Therefore I Am is such a shameless generic bop. I use it!
Moonlightbae Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 I'm just catching up and these visuals so pretty probably the best I've seen this year. as for the last update Bang was a fun EP! In The Meantime Mirror and A Second To Midnight are bops!
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 22, 2021 ATRL Moderator Posted December 22, 2021 bang was such a fun ep from Rita Ora mirror, bunny is a rider, wildflower wildfire
potent Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 I like all of the songs I know from this set! Mirror is a bop, but Burning Bridges was better I wasn't obsessed with Bunny that much it's just okay for me
witness1.3 Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Bang was so good, and I thoroughly enjoyed In The Meantime too. Mirror, Bunny Is A Rider, A Second to Midnight, Therefore I Am
Remmy Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 People were hyping up Alessia's album quite a bit, but yeah there was too much filler once again Sweet Dream had me pretty excited as well, one of her best songs I think! || Don't care much for Wildflower Wildfire. Mirror, Bunny, Therefore I Am are all growers Thought they were alright/cute at first and then one day they just clicked. DIdn't care for the Starstruck remix (love the original) OR A Second to Midnight I'm starting to realize that maybe I'm just not into Kylie aside from a handful of songs nnn.
Mr. Loco Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Therefore I am is cute, I'm not a big fan of Billie, but it's one of the best songs she's released
Ewan Chaos Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Superspreader made no points with her EP, but Bang Bang is the best from that collection. I kinda hate Therefore I am Bunny Is A Rider and Mirror back to back, slay!
OreGuy Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 okay this is honestly the first time I see some Mirrors love and I'm so happy that song is honestly so good and a bop
