I don't think it will tie Hello, abcdefu is racing up quite fast and I see it being threat once the Xmas songs invasion ends. EOM may come back in January but I think it will snatch 1 more week or so.

Do you think so? It needs a lot of airplay to catch up and EOM is pretty strong and stable on streaming.

I mean, I may be wrong but won't put my hopes so, anything can happen, we're still 1 month away until Xmas songs die out.

Hopefully Adeleine spares us of that one spending multiple weeks at #1.

Do you have any sort of information as to when physicals became available in stores and if Folklore received a huge boost (unless it coincides with her releases signed copies)

I keep seeing this excuse, is there any sort of evidence to suggest she'd have sold significantly more otherwise? She's heavily fanbase driven, and those fans ordered on her website. During Folklore's early chart run - those counted for BB200 as they were ordered (not when they were shipped). So saying she didn't have physicals is disingenuous because physicals sold on her website DID count as sales.

She had physicals available on her website from the very start and because of old rules they all counted as soon as they were ordered because they came with a free digital copy. This no physicals is inaccurate and a complete spin by the Swifties.

Physicals on stores* not online.

Pretty sure physicals were still available on the website with like 8 bundles and were shipped right away and counted for the first week.

18 bundles over three different formats.

Each order came with an instant digital download which was registered as a sale as soon as it happened, as per the old rules.

Now things only count when they are shipped.

Every album sold in her website store counted as 2 copies, as every single purchase of any type of merchandise (which includes physical albums) was bundled with a digital album copy, which counted as first week sale.

No, that is not right at all sorry. It only counted as one sale, but the first delivered thing is counted. It was not counted again when the physical album actually shipped.

Weird, the only place I've seen people hating it is Atrl but they drag anything that it's not generic pop.

Its a spin, People who wanted the physicals were buying them from week one and they all counted from that date, because of the old rules

Swifties have been saying she had no physicals, period, which is not true.

So if Adele hadn’t had any physicals in stores first week, and only on her website (ready to ship first week), she would have sold the same amount? :)

I am amazed that it has six weeks at number one. Like ATRL told me it was a flop. SIX weeks, some girls cant go beyond one and need all manner of gimmicks to get there in the first place. Adele does it organically and effortlessly. So impressive.

By certain ATRL group's narrative I was told EOM was underperforming, yet it's smashing. Why?

Mhm, that’s why her team made sure to print 1M+ physical copies to have in store with dedicated displays in time for first week and Black Friday :santa:

I could see Easy On Me tying or surpassing Hello’s 10 weeks. I think it will nab a 7th week this week. Possibly an 8th next week, but Mariah will probably nab it by then or soon after. So 7-8 weeks pre Christmas, and I could see it returning to #1 for a couple weeks after Christmas & NYE unless something comes up fast after the holidays which I don’t really see happening unless Rihanna drops or something.

The question is 6 or 7 weeks before Christmas, not 7 or 8. I think Mariah has the next 3 weeks, but next might be close

She had 3 weeks in 2019 and 2, with Willow in between, in 2020.

A return to #1 after is certainly possible, but also a pretty long time away

Which is similar, yes. But she also didnt greatly benefit from the old rules there, which is what some Adele fans have been arguing over and over. It made the surprise release more possible, sure

It also meant people had to know about the album and go to her website. You couldnt stumble across it in a store doing something else. But absolutely most people who wanted to buy the album knew about it being out, I'm not arguing against that.

I said it before, and since we are repeating old and tired arguments over and over, idk if she would have sold a bit less or a bit more with a traditional release ala Adele now. I'm really not sure, but I dont think the difference would have been big either way

Easy on Me is 100% coming back to #1 after Xmas. The only treat is that Gayle alphabet song, but EOM's airplay is big enough to keep it from #1 for at least 2 weeks in January and it's probably gonna stay stable on Streaming thanks to a lot of year-end countdowns.

Obviously they have to adjust to the new rules. Its impossible to have almost 900k physical copies ready to ship. Far easier when you can throw a free digital download and tick yes its a sale. Stop acting obtuse.
