But she also didnt greatly benefit from the old rules there, which is what some Adele fans have been arguing over and over. It made the surprise release more possible, sure It also meant people had to know about the album and go to her website. You couldnt stumble across it in a store doing something else. But absolutely most people who wanted to buy the album knew about it being out, I'm not arguing against that. I said it before, and since we are repeating old and tired arguments over and over, idk if she would have sold a bit less or a bit more with a traditional release ala Adele now. The only treat is that Gayle alphabet song, but EOM's airplay is big enough to keep it from #1 for at least 2 weeks in January and it's probably gonna stay stable on Streaming thanks to a lot of year-end countdowns. Its impossible to have almost 900k physical copies ready to ship. Far easier when you can throw a free digital download and tick yes its a sale. Stop acting obtuse.
