i was told she is flopping, where are the swifties now?

30 - 1 - 839k
30 - 2 - 288k

folklore - 1 - 852k
folklore - 2 - 135k

I love 30 but its second week is during the Black Friday while Folklore's second week was in the middle of the summer and without physicals (CDs, vinyls). Let's just celebrate that both artists delivered excellent records :clap3:

102k for a re-recorded album is gargantuan! If only Taylor moved Red TV's release date two more weeks, it could have secured a third week at number one!

Do you have any sort of information as to when physicals became available in stores and if Folklore received a huge boost (unless it coincides with her releases signed copies)

I keep seeing this excuse, is there any sort of evidence to suggest she'd have sold significantly more otherwise? She's heavily fanbase driven, and those fans ordered on her website. During Folklore's early chart run - those counted for BB200 as they were ordered (not when they were shipped). So saying she didn't have physicals is disingenuous because physicals sold on her website DID count as sales.

Physicals were available in stores from week 3:

Taylor Swift’s Folklore reigns at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a third week – marking the first album by a woman to spend its first three weeks at No. 1 since 2018. Aided by the arrival of its CD version in stores, Folklore earned 136,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Aug. 13 (up 1%)...

Of Folklore’s units earned in the latest tracking week, SEA units comprise 68,000 (down 33%, equaling 89.77 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs), album sales total 67,000 (up 119%) and TEA units equal 1,000 (down 45%).

Physicals on stores* not online.

Pretty sure physicals were still available on the website with like 8 bundles and were shipped right away and counted for the first week.

It had digital album bundle for every purchase, counted right away on the time of purchase

Wow so first week of physical sales in stores was only 67k. I thought it would be 200k or something with the way stans are acting like that was a huge handicap

Every album sold in her website store counted as 2 copies, as every single purchase of any type of merchandise (which includes physical albums) was bundled with a digital album copy, which counted as first week sale.

I don’t think that’s how it works though. I think the album counted immediately prior to the change, but didn’t count when it got shipped. Now it only counts when it gets shipped. I think the time changed on when it counts but I don’t think it counted twice? Is there a source for that

Congratulations to Adele and Taylor on these monumental numbers. We should really be celebrating both of them, I mean Adele’s pure sales are INSANE — she’s definitely the sales queen. And Taylor is doing amazing for a re-recording, literally unprecedented levels of success. The Music Industry indeed :clap3:

The 8 versions were only available for week one, they were gone afterwards.

US vinyl numbers are in! Over 50k sold in its 2nd week, best 2nd week of vinyl sales ever (beating Taylor's record of 32k).
