thecptz Posted November 4, 2021 Author Posted November 4, 2021 ROUND 4 (be my valentine) ENTRIES SPOTIFY PLAYLIST Aaliyah - One In a Million Spoiler This song 100% speaks for itself. I hope you all enjoy! Billie Eilish - Halley's Comet Spoiler This song may not be the most traditional happy love song, but I think it captures "happy" love in Billie's unique way. It's pretty much the only time in her discography where she openly acknowledges she's falling in love and seems to be accepting of it instead of taking a pessimistic/insecure approach to it. Charli XCX - claws Chloe x Halle - Who Knew Spoiler This is a romantic love song about falling in love unexpectedly. The song focuses on two persons that couldn't be more different however they make each other extremely happy and the love is very strong despite the differences. Unconditional Love exists even when it's unpredictable. Demi Lovato - My Love Is Like a Star Spoiler Considering the guy that I recently said I love you to may have to move away soon, MLILAS was the first song I thought of when the theme was announced ?. The song details Demi talking to a lover who they are engaged in a long distance relationship with. The song essentially says that no matter how far away they are, Demi’s partner is still their “baby,” is still “the one,” and that Demi’s love is always there despite the distance between them. Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Her and I (Slow Jam 2) Miley Cyrus - When I Look At You Red Velvet - Kingdom Come Spoiler English translation: https://genius.com/Genius-english-translations-red-velvet-kingdom-come-english-translation-lyrics while you all wait for the judges, here are all the songs for you to have fun with it OR you can just critique these songs too judges will have 36 hours (11am ET on friday 5th) to judge your entries!! thecptz Posted November 4, 2021 Author Posted November 4, 2021 ROUND 4 (be my valentine) ENTRIES SPOTIFY PLAYLIST Shakira - No Creo Spoiler This is a song about a deep and all consuming love. About the type of love that makes you feel like you can fully expose yourself to your partner in a way that you can’t with anybody else, making them the only person who truly knows the real you. It’s about a love so deep that it, alongside with the person whom you share it with, becomes the only thing that you truly see and believe in. It’s a super cute song about that special connection you make with that certain someone, making it perfect for Valentine’s day. Plus, it’s a huge, happy bop. English Translation: https://songlations.livejournal.com/41463.html? Shania Twain - You're Still the One Sufjan Stevens - The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us! Spoiler This song chronicles a romantic relationship Sufjan had with a male friend during a summer camp he attended in his youth. The lyrics and sound/vibe gives me butterflies and makes me feel like I’m falling in love for the first time. Taylor Swift - Lover Spoiler Taylor shows that the most passionate form of romance can consist of all the little things that you share with your lover. If you complete each other, then nothing else matters. Tinashe - Life's Too Short Tove Lo - Not On Drugs Spoiler “It’s about the happy kind of love where you feel like there’s nothing that can get you higher than the person you’re with and have these feelings for.” Troye Sivan - What a Heavenly Way to Die Spoiler Because forever is in bagels' eyes, but forever ain't half the time I wanna spend with bagels Whitney Houston - How Will I Know Spoiler Super upbeat and feel good song, a young teen girl being shy about asking her crush to be her Valentine, very teenage dream!!! Is this explanation useless? Perhaps. Did I just want to make you read more? Mayhaps! Do you hate me now? Permayhaps! And the feeling is mutual while you all wait for the judges, here are all the songs for you to have fun with it OR you can just critique these songs too judges will have 36 hours (11am ET on friday 5th) to judge your entries!! Staryu Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Like all of these songs fit the theme, it's an easy theme, so mine will mainly be scored by my personal taste. How Will I Know, One in a Million, and You're Still the One are classic love songs. Ellie's is a modern classic. The Lizard Wizard song is way too long, like an unnecessary 4 minutes of instrumental in the middle of the song. I love Claws, it's not noise to me. Good luck with your long distance love @Rotunda Red Velvet, Tove Lo, Troye, CxH, and Tinsahe songs were great too. Halleys Comet is a sweet vulnerable side of Billie, it's cute. um what else, the Shakira song was a cute bop I guess, the Miley song fits the round perfectly, Lover does too obviously. The Sufjan song was alright, the title was interesting. Okay that's all I've got.
shelven Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Almost everyone getting classic or great while I get "cute"

thecptz Posted November 5, 2021 Author Posted November 5, 2021 thank you for your lovely words judge madonna @Staryu
Dessy Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Round 4: For the most part, I believe y'all were on point with the theme. So it's really down to my own personal taste as well. Spoiler Aaliyah - One In a Million This round was practically made for Aaliyah tbh and you just sent one of her very best. Everything about this is perfect to me. That BRIDGE alone Love it, babe Billie Eilish - Halley's Comet It’s a bit of a reach but it works just enough for me. The song itself is lovely, of course. Charli XCX - claws Wait, wait OMG! This is IT! Chloe x Halle - Who Knew This is quite a lowkey song for them. But I rather enjoyed it. Demi Lovato - My Love Is Like a Star This is a nice, pleasant vibe. But I think the song could’ve been stronger for me. Regardless, I hope y’all find a way to make it work. Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do This mother****ing classic (that I got annoyed with for being on the radio too much in college). Now I love it again! King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Her and I (Slow Jam 2) The opening part is rather grating. But when the beat kicked in it went from 2 to a 7 immediately lol. And then I was vibing all the way. Definitely a song you need to stick around for. Miley Cyrus - When I Look At You The second part of this song really delivered for me. Great choice! Red Velvet - Kingdom Come Amazing song. The translation kinda makes me wish I knew Korean cause it seems it would be a killer in the native language. Shakira - No Creo I think it’s on theme but the song feels rather underwhelming. It's disappointing for Shakira tbh. Shania Twain - You're Still the One This is quite a different sound from before and I think I really enjoy this one. Beautiful song. Sufjan Stevens - The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us! I’m loving this sort of story/build-up style and I absolutely adore this song. Taylor Swift - Lover Not Lover :scurryshit: Just kidding, this is an excellent choice and kinda what I envisioned when I saw the round theme. Tinashe - Life's Too Short It’s okay. Not really feeling it that much tbh. Tove Lo - Not On Drugs I think this fits the theme quite nicely, but I’m not really feeling the song that much. It's just missing something for me and idk what. Troye Sivan - What a Heavenly Way to Die Sweet bliss is how feel when I listen to this song. So I think it’s a pretty solid choice. Whitney Houston - How Will I Know This mother****ing classic right here. It’s very upbeat and boppy. I love this sound from the 80s.
