Question 9

I half-expected this question to flop but I just wanted to shove the Fermi Paradox into a question. So many interesting breakdowns of the explanations on Youtube:celestial3:

E.T. is rare - 38
Already here/visited Earth - 3
Lack of advanced technology - 2

Fruity's full answer: Extraterrestrial life is rare or non-existent (this Wikipedia article is genuinely FASCINATING, btw only picked this because it’s first in line and there’s too many legit ones to choose from)
hofork's full answer: No advanced tech, they’re probably is life outside but whose to say they’re human-esque? Or have the ability to create technology? What if there’s a planet but it’s just animals and they like it that way?

tbh it is really interesting... like if the universe has the same requirements for life to exist and evolve into intelligent forms, ETs might be in the same technological advancement as us... or it could be that there are only few habitable zone and planets in the whole universe.

I feel like I discussed this in a class, but I’m personally partial to the theory that most intelligent species will eventually engage in over-consumption/over-development and deplete themselves of their own resources and die out before they can make contact with other intelligent species.

A moment of silence for the Ari's answerers who did NOT put the song with the most known space agency in the title.
