This is stupid lmao. He is the only reason a 90% spanish song is even in the top 20 in the UK lmao.

Maybe in this case. But if you look at the recent situation when there was a week when remix of "Shape of You" featuring Stormzy was the most "popular" version of the song, does it mean that he should've been credited? It's a remix, not the original song, so unless they are charting separately it is logical that only the original artists are credited.

On official German singles chart Bieber also isn't listed as an artist.

Gasolina is huge here. Like a 50% chance you'll hear it on a night out. :rip:

Puerto Ricans = Talent!! :clap3:

Man it's so cool and crazy to see Fonsi and Yankee potentially toping the UK charts. So awesome. It's always nice to see whenever Latinos get recognition.

@Agenor I think they credited Justin. This is in their article from today:

Quote

Despacito, boosted by a remix featuring the superstar Canadian, notched up 31,000 downloads and 6.2 million streams to clinch the Official Singles Chart top spot this week, becoming Luis and Daddy’s first UK chart toppers, while giving Justin the sixth of his career.

Yes, I saw it, they added him and added "remix" to the name of the song. This is the first time they have done something like this.

It seems the German charts are the only ones that won't credit Bieber.

Yes, they always count every version of the song available for streaming and download, but they have never allowed remixes (during the initial release of the song) to be named as official charting version.

Dead at Gasolina :o

Why so surprised? Maria went to #6 in the UK (and #1 in Australia) back in 1998:

Ricky Martin's "Maria" went to #6 in 1998 and Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina" went to #5 in the UK in 2005 and they were 100% Spanish. :rip:
