ATRL very often dislike this type of motivational / self-empowerment songs from what can I remember. They aren't that liked in the rates I have watched in here. Fight Song and Scars To Your Beautiful are example of this. Also they had certain sound that just make it not that appealing Edited August 25, 2021 by Jay-Zicario
Fruity Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Maybe I was a bit harsh on POTR as a Navy, like I kinda critiqued it from memory. It does kinda go off (in a trashy way). I've bumped it up a cute few spots!

ZORBIT Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Loz G2 Critiques Spoiler Black Dresses - Peacesign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Reads everyone showing their lack of music TASTE* I’ll die on this hill because I loved every second of this! Did not expect ATRL to introduce me to a potentially new rock group like this & I will check out the album! Fantásticooo Charlie Puth - The Way I Am Never been a fan of his and this hasn’t budged to change the same. I only enjoyed the instrumental because it screams a certain melody of a known rock song but I can’t remember…. it's más o menos Doja Cat - Cyber Sex Her best opener out of the three Doja Cat - Woman Took me a while to see the light of this as an opener and a great beach bop. Erika de Casier - Drama Her voice sounds so lush and I will check her further material. Definitely worthy of rich bitch music playlist. Loved the instrumental too It reminds me of something off TLC’s album Fanmail Fantásticooo L Devine - Priorities The structure is something but the outro is gorge! It feels like I’m flying through a grass field of euphoric colors at the end. I’m interesado Madonna - Survival She’s a cute girl who I could add to the office playlist when senile elderly clients come in. Not as an enticing opener compared to others, GGW>>> Mitski - Happy I’ve only listened to her recent project solely but this was nice to listen. The thumping should’ve been on mute btw, Geyser>>> Más o menos Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker Not this recent Drag Race song; I do enjoy it though, it’s giving 70’s femme fatale action music. Rihanna - Phresh Out the Runway The nostalgia that rushed through , one of her best openers honestly. Si Mami, si Rih at VS! Fantásticooo Rihanna - SOS Uh-La-La-La-Loveee this opener. Nostalgia once again tugging my love for this & I forgot this was an opener. Sade - Smooth Operator The instrumental really pushes her vocal delivery & it's a great song overall. The sax going off in the middle and end, bravissimo¡ Lemme get into Ms Sade Sara Bareilles - Brave Katy did it better, never got the hype for Ms Bareilles. Sorry, it’s a no for me Shakira - She Wolf My dad stans this song so hard but definitely a groove to bop nonetheless. Ahoooo St. Vincent - Pay Your Way in Pain A front-loaded opener; it’s like the initial build-up peak when you’re tripping before you breathe & enjoy your surroundings. Nice transition from MASS SZA - Supermodel Loved this intro once my bestie kept imposing SZA on me. Z is my fave EP of hers so this is a nice transition to her magnum opus Fantásticooo TeaMarrr - Chasing Amy Her melody of delivering the lyrics feel a bit off to me. Was very interested at first but directly felt dragged out & jarring at the end Wolf Alice - The Beach Cute buildup towards the end but because I’m not feeling as melancholy, I didn’t really vibe with the first 1/2 of the song Zara Larsson - Love Me Land The instrumental is the shining part. I never cared for Zara’s tone but this is a decent entry. It's más o menos

mokitsu Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 GROUP 2 Spoiler Black Dresses - PEACESIGN: My mind is not open enough for this Charlie Puth - The Way I Am: disgusting song, I have trauma with this album/era. Doja Cat - Cyber Sex: a non stop barrage of one liners and hooks. Love it. Doja Cat - Woman: it works well as an “intro” to the album, but it’s not very exciting to me.I like the rap parts though. Erika de Casier - Drama: this album disappointed me a bit based on the singles. Drama is absolutely immaculate, I love the UK garage production and her delivery in this is just great. L Devine - Priorities: if this was in some lame album like Dirty Computer it would have universal acclaim it’s an incredible pop song, so well crafted. Madonna - Survival: an odd choice and tbh I always hated that this was the intro. It doesn’t feel… intro-y. Kinda like filler almost? But without that context and judging it as a standalone song, I like it. It’s a bit repetitive though. Mitski - Happy: I love this song, especially the weird brass loop that comes on sometimes. Too bad I’m not depressed anymore to fully appreciate it but it was my **** for some months. Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker: Not into this. Rihanna - Phresh Off the Runway: this is definitely abrasive and not always in the best way. Not as cool as it tries to be but really good at the same time? It’s a weird song and I’m not sure what to make of it! Rihanna - SOS: I was reading a list of her #1 hits some months ago and it surprised me that this was her first ngl. But listening to it makes complete sense - it’s in your face from the first second, with an incredibly catchy melody backing up the infectious production. Sade - Smooth Operator: Sade at her peak makes me feel like I’m in a dimly lit New York apartment, either with a lover or alone thinking about a lover - sort of like the “Is It A Crime” music video. Her delivery here is completely spot on, cheeky and sensual, just as it should be. A hit. Sara Beirelles - Brave: I actually love Roar and this isn’t that worse either, even if it lacks the punch and polish of the former for me. Sometimes a soccer mom bop is enough to brighten your day!! Shakira - She Wolf: there’s a great song in this but it’s just very dated to me with the weird vocal effects and undercooked production. St. Vincent - Pay Your Way Back in Pain: A complete dud. Unlistenable. SZA - Supermodel: THIS is how you do an intro. Not much needs to be said about this: the lyrics are gorgeous, specific but universal enough and it makes you want more. TaeMarrr - Chasing Amy: very much an early SZA impersonation. Not sure I like this, it’s kinda cringe at some parts. Wolf Alice - The Beach: Amazing opener to an immaculate album. Love how the instrumentation is sparse but tense, matching the lyrics and themes until it explodes. Really gorgeous song. Zara Larsson - Love Me Land: wish the chorus was a bit stronger but this is an incredible opener - moody, weird and the true ABBA on acids she promised.
Not Like The Movies Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Black Dresses - Peacesign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - girl wtf is this, im a little scared, oh hell no! Charlie Puth - The Way I Am - Can't stand him aside from his work on Harley's in Hawaii but this is actually nice, I'm surprised! Doja Cat - Cyber Sex - this massive bop! Doja Cat - Woman - this is actually in my Planet Her holy trinity, great submission! Erika de Casier - Drama - excellent song from AOTY, she's great L Devine - Priorities - this is really nice, let me save it real quick, might not rank as high tho compared to other songs here Madonna - Survival - this was really nice, i think id love this album because everything ive heard from it was really good Mitski - Happy - yes I remember this, it's good but fades in the back in this strong group for me Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker - ok Silky Nutmeg Ganache, a bop but it's not something I would voluntarily listen to Rihanna - Phresh Out the Runway - YAS Rihanna - SOS - ok Akeria vs Yvie, a big big bop! Sade - Smooth Operator - a classic that I love and stan! Sara Bareilles - Brave - motivational bop, cute next to gorgeous tho... Shakira - She Wolf - this classic!! she did that St. Vincent - Pay Your Way in Pain - It's okay, interesting, def not the worst here. SZA - Supermodel - I love this song SO SO much ugh! The album is in my top 5 of all time. TeaMarrr - Chasing Amy - WAITTTT who is this, im stanning! Wolf Alice - The Beach - This was alright, I didn't really like it tbh, but it's not awful. Zara Larsson - Love Me Land - generic fun bop, not the strongest in this group but it's cute

Well the normal thing is that the Newbies to this Game don't do that good in the first few rounds. And then start to adapt with the taste of the others to choose what song will be send. See what they like, dislike, what is hit or miss, etc.
