Future Lover Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Black Dresses - Peacesign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Charlie Puth - The Way I Am His voice SUCKS, but the song is cute Doja Cat - Cyber Sex It's okay, kinda fun Doja Cat - Woman Not a fan of the chorus Erika de Casier - Drama Cute. Bit of a snooze though L Devine - Priorities The production is cool but the song isn't really clicking with me. Might be a grower Madonna - Survival Not one of my favorite Madonna songs but it's a nice jam Mitski - Happy A lot better than I remember it being. One of her few listenable songs Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker I prefer her other classics but this is still a cute bop Rihanna - Phresh Out the Runway I always liked this. A messy bop Rihanna - SOS Yuppp a classic. I still use this Sade - Smooth Operator It's no No Ordinary Love but it's cute Sara Bareilles - Brave Ehmmm this is really annoying, I'm gonna pass Shakira - She Wolf Yuppp another classic. I prefer the Spanish version though St. Vincent - Pay Your Way in Pain Just horrible One of the worst songs of the year SZA - Supermodel It's not horrible or anything, but it's not my cup of tea TeaMarrr - Chasing Amy Just a really ugly song. Didn't enjoy this at all Wolf Alice - The Beach Doesn't do anything for me Zara Larsson - Love Me Land I like the production but I always found her vocals really annoying here
Fruity Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 (edited) ~ Group 1 ~ Spoiler Apink - Dumhdurum Not us kicking off with this bop. The instrumentation is kind of/very annoying in that admittedly very catchy refrain, but somehow it mostly gets away with it. BANKS - Gemini Feed You knew you snatched a classic. Bjork - Army of Me Kind of legendary.. yeh.. BLACKPINK - How You Like That Brash but in the absolute best way. They rightly get clocked as unnecessarily noisy sometimes, but it just works here. Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back To Me Now Did somebody say emotional rollercoaster? ? Honestly this song is one of the finest examples of a magnus opus. A feature length drama encapsulated in an 8 minute song. The use of instrumentation, tempo and dynamic variation is on another level... The piano is consistently gorgeous and the outpouring of emotion she conveys in this song is pretty much unparalleled. She really takes us on a journey. Charli XCX - Vroom Vroom Omg... let me ascend. It's been a while! Doja Cat - Go To Town It's alright, definitely an interesting song. It could struggle given the high quality of this group so far. Hole - Celebrity Skin Hmmm. I kinda like this! Jessie Ware - Spotlight 11/10. Kari Faux - MEDICATED Cute. Kelela - A Message Yeh... this is dark and sultry electric gorgeousness, everything I want + crave + expect from a Kelela song. Kesha - Your Love Is My Drug I mean it's tacky. Can't say I hugely enjoyed sitting through this. I wish you an ounce of luck. Liz Phair - 6'1'' This was a risk. It didn't hugely pay off me for me but I respect the song. Lorde - Tennis Court I'm surprised this isn't banned honestly. Great song and most definitely an ATRL crowd pleaser. P!nk - Stupid Girls Pass. Rita Ora - Anywhere Super solid pop song. Sam Smith - Young This is short but somehow dragged anyway. It very much feels like an intro that could've been 90 seconds long. A bit eye roll for me also. They definitely think they're sooo deep ? It's a hard pass for me. The Knife - Heartbeats Interesting choice. I dig it. It got better and better. I feel like I recognise this but I'm not sure where from. Super interesting production. TWICE - I Can't Stop Me Bop. WILLOW - t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l Wasn't sure about this one a few months ago and I'm afraid to report that it hasn't grown on me. ~ Group 2 ~ Spoiler Blackdresses - PEACESIGN!!!!!!! Certainly interesting! Charlie Puth - The Way I Am Certainly better than I expected! But like actually! I like it. Doja Cat - Cyber Sex Certainly amazing! Woman - Doja Cat Middle of the pack in this group, or even low. Like it's decent and has some cute quirks but overall it's nothing special. She's not giving what she thought she was (kind of describes the entire album..) Erika de Casier - Drama Lovely. L Devine - Prioritiess Oh wow this kind of HITS in a slap to the face kind of way?! Let me put a goddamn mark to this one. Madonna - Survival It's nice. The production elements come together very nicely. It's never been something I was obsessed with, though. Mitski - Happy Okay miss thing. Serve me chaotic-jazz-grunge queen. Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker It goes off a bit. Rihanna - Phresh Out The Runway Always thought this was garbage. On my reworked Unapologetic this is NOT included. Literally why is she talking gibberish through half the song? Why is it so obnoxiously noisy and not necessarily in an interesting way? Having said that... maybe I'm bopping... idk... Rihanna - SOS Let me watch the video right now for the nostalgia! Sade - Smooth Operator Hmmmmmm. It's a big, big classic... yeh. Sara Bareilles - Brave It's a bit lame and corny. Shakira - She Wolf I know I'm in the minority but this never did it for me and it still doesn't now. St. Vincent - Pay Your Way In Pain It got kinda fashionable to like this since it's original dire reception, huh? Anyways it's good, actually it's very good, yeh it's definitely not immediate but there's something uniquely groovey and attractively jarring about this. I dig it a lot. SZA - Supermodel This choice was incredibly predictable nn. It's solid! Love the album! TeaMarr - Chasing Amy It's nice.. A little unfortunate that this song got put right after SZA since when in direct comparison, her style kinda feels like an inferior knock off. Wolf Alice - The Beach Literally gorgeous.. Zara Larsson - Love Me Land Ughhh this is kinda experimental pop perfection huh? I wanna ****ing hear this in a club right now. ~ Faglist ~ Spoiler @Sanguine @Touch It @Kavish @Hikari @Alena @Auburn @Noah @Tom Vercetti @Drifloon @Dessy @Taylucifer @Pendulum @Thanatos @Valtersen @Lucky#17 @luckystrike @kipperskipper @Jay-Zicario @Billionaire @Not Like The Movies @ughgabriel @Stevie @TruGemini @Future Lover @Moonlightbae @Insanity @Jai @K$Ellie @TayDine1989 @touya kinomoto @Zolvnski @dweebz @Guero @Mr. Duff @PinkBox @Element @Psycho @Rotunda @worldwide angel Edited August 25, 2021 by Fruity

smholiv Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 After an artist is used 3 times they're "banned" to give the game another element of difficulty and more variety

mokitsu Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I think Clue just meant to give your song a critique (as you would the rest of them), just don’t make it obvious it’s yours…

smholiv Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 realistically very few people will go hunting through your reviews to see if they can determine what you sent, especially this early in the game jfjlf. just say "I like this" rather than "Best song ever, you snapped by sending this bestie" or w/e
