Hector Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Looks like Billboard themselves are in on the fraud: Andrew Unterberger: Yep, he's there. The success of "Montero" may have seemed largely hype-driven at first, but the song has stuck around -- spending 14 of its 18 weeks on the Hot 100 in the chart's top 10 -- and now "Industry Baby" looks on its way to following a similar trajectory. (As long as BTS is going to sell as many copies as they need to stay on top each week, No. 2 debuts are basically the new No. 1 debuts.) He's got the hits, he's got the videos, he's got the live performances, he's certainly got the personality and the social media presence -- that adds up to a pop star in 2021, and a rather important one. https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/hip-hop/9609602/lil-nas-x-industry-baby-five-burning-questions/

After that, well... depends on competition... They could go for at least 14 just to make sure that Olivia doesn't sneak up to get Song of the Summer at the very last minute. No, i read somewhere here that armys are letting Justin Bieber top the hot 100 next week…

That guy is clearly an Olivia stan or just someone who wants to stir the pot. Yet they are making no moves to change any of the rules on web sales. I mean THEY make the decisions. The way you all take the bait is too much. Give them those clicks though

brianc33710 Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 How many more downloads did Lil Nas need to overtake Butter? Nas should've known better than to just cover the streaming metric & basically ignore sales. Also, wasn't Nas supposed to get 60 mil streams & not 40?

They're completely aware that nobody knows these BTS songs, but they're allowing their chart to be manipulated. Grow a back bone.

Last year they had to delete a tweet where they used the word "dips" after that Life Goes Down song free fell from #1 because those idiots started to say Billboard was xenophobic when in reality Billboard uses words like that when everyone free falls from #1
