this makes me believe Adele is tactically releasing in October the earliest after the BTS fiasco that will continue in September

Congrats BTS! :1stplace::1stplace::1stplace::1stplace::1stplace:

Billboard becoming BTS' little minions is something I never expected :bibliahh:

If their new song in September goes #1 (which it will) they'll probably break some Beatles and MJ records for most #1s in shortest amount of time or whatever, honestly this whole thing is pretty entertaining cause Billboard's entire reputation is going down the drain

Now they're aiming to block Stay (another organic hit ala Good 4 U)

The irony of Nas being blocked by remixes/multiple versions :skull: Truly a what goes around comes around moment. He'd be an absolute hypocrite if he says a word about BTS blocking him

they're under the same label, he won't say anything

watermelon sugar disagrees, sis

If you had reading comprehension skills you would understand that the record was referring to not being in those chart brackets each time they've hit #1 lately after declining week-on-week. Not sure what you have against Harry sis, but I'll take a successful post album single (that was a promo single before that) not being high on streaming the week it hit #1, yet still being in the Global Top 50 20 months after it was released any day :coffee2:

Okay so yesterday  I went on Omegle, set my location to United States and went to ask "what is the #1 song of the country? Butter or Good 4 U"

...all first 25 strangers that didnt skip me answered and sang to Good 4 U, meanwhile some strangers confused "Butter" as the "Build Me Up Buttercup" song :rip:

Speaks volumes.

Lol, girl sit

OTR is one of the biggest hits of all time, EVERYBODY on earth knew about it, old and young. It was memed, parodied, streamed in the MILLIONS and was rightfully the biggest #1 hit of 2019.

You trying to compare OTR to Butter is giving delusion. I'mma need you to sit this one out babe.

your writing skills must be on the fritz because your 'omgshade' response still doesn't make sense. ws was #18 on streaming when it was mass bought to #1. you said "bts becomes the first act to top the hot 100 while not top 15 in streaming." What alternative facts interpretation was I supposed to make?

Butter

847 sets x 24 copies per set = 20,328 copies sold

1 set x 24 copies per set = 24 copies sold

45 Amazon sets x 24 copies per set = 1,080 copies sold

45 Qobuz sets x 24 copies per set = 1,080 copies sold

TOTAL: 22,512 copies sold (~20% of the song's total sales of 112.9K this week)

Permission to Dance

847 sets x 16 copies per set = 13,552 copies sold

45 Amazon sets x 16 copies per set = 720 copies sold

45 Qobuz sets x 16 copies per set = 720 copies sold

TOTAL: 14,272 copies sold

If I'm understanding the tweet correctly, this one person is responsible for roughly 20% of Butter's sales this week?! I know they were purchased with crowdsourced funds but my GOD that's truly ridiculous if my calculations are correct. :deadbanana2:

It doesn't matter.

Or are you saying that cheating is OK if you're already successful?

It still would not have broken Mimi's record if he didn't pull all types of shenanigans so he can't complained about being blocked.

Anyway, still wish him a week at #1 with tIndustry Baby. Love the song even more than Call Me By Your Name.

I'm not sure what you're not understanding, BTS are the first act to have a #1 that wasn't in the top 10, 15, 30 or 40 for the weeks they've been #1. No one said they're the first artist to be outside those milestones when hitting #1, but rather the only act/first act to collect all of those feats with Butter :rip: #1s have been outside the top 10, 15 etc before but we've never seen before where the same song has hit #1 multiple times while declining outside each of those milestones each time it's #1.

Me when i don't know what I'm talking about :eddie:

FYI BB audits Columbia every week and filters between 50-55% of Butter sales, armys usually buy +200K copies every week but BB only reports half because of the filtering. This is the reason why Columbia is sure BB is not going to change the rules anytime soon

Congrats for another week at the top :clap3:

My god. So basically 10 people (or less) are deciding the #1 in the US?  :deadbanana2:
