HDD: Olivia x The Kid Laroi #1

Columbia’s The Kid Laroi appears to be in a good position to challenge for #1 on next Friday’s HITS Top 50. In the absence of Kanye West’s expected Donda album, the third iteration of Laroi's F*ck Love project, F*ck Love 3: Over You, will compete with Geffen’s Olivia Rodrigo with each projecting to around 70k.

The Kid Laroi (Columbia) 65-70k total activity, <1k albums
EST Gee (Warlike/CMG/Interscope) 21-24k, <1k
Leon Bridges (Columbia) 12-15k, 6-8k

it’s gonna be a close one :jonny5:

but Kid Laroi’s album has 29 tracks so it would depend on stability of both. Olive’s stable with physical & he’s only doing about 1k so let’s see….

Both deserve :clap3:

@private radio Laroi's is just the new 7 track mixtape/EP I think, I don't think its counting all three of the EP's combined (I could be wrong).

is it? this confuses me tbh. because the full thing is included as a whole on streaming platforms. it’s smart tbh, it’s giving folklore: the longpond studio sessions

I don't know why I thought The Kid could open above 100k, and more considering the album has 29 songs.

Whoops.  I would have figured bigger numbers with 29 songs considering he has a few hits

Laroi's album technically has 29 songs but most of them are from previously released mixtapes/albums so they probably won't get a big boost this week. The album only has 6 new songs + Stay, so it's basically an EP. Good debut considering all of that.

Still rooting for Olivia to snatch the #1 though :eli:

It’s a shame that Miley collab didn’t blow up while JB’s is. Weird how the world works against women like that.

Strangely enough Twain's 2×D juggernaut Come On Over actually peaked at #2 for 2 wks in late 1997 (though it spent 51 wks in the Top 10 over 3 calendar years). She didn't reach #1 on BB 200 til Up. COO was Underwood's Some Hearts on steroids.
