The previous challenge, oh my, it evoked my biggest flaw that I'm continuing to fight since I was 14 years old. Doubt. Self-doubt I would correct. When I heard the theme 'Location', I instantly knew I had to post the NYC photo, after all I grew up in NYC, since I was born on Broadway, baby. What happened is that I got a call from Donatella and she told me that she has some unseen photos from the photoshoot I did for her in 2014. Versace is close to my heart, to me it reminds me of Italy and for some reason I thought me eating a hotdog in NYC would piss you, the judges off. That's why I chose the pic that I also got paid for...

 

 

To my remaining models, I like to call them friends, please don't ever doubt yourself and most importantly, don't ask for the advice from other contestants. You might think they are your friends, but don't forget that the finish line is near and the sabotages might be the new trendy act. Choose the picture wisely, don't overthink it and most importantly stand by your artistic choice. Appreciate the work with your photographers, the designers that made your beautiful outfit and all the extra work from the people in behind the scenes. 

 

I still feel like a "fetus" in a modelling world but this was a great start for me and made me appreciate myself and the women around me. After all, we are not just objects to entertain the world. We are not members of a giant beauty pageant meant to be pit against one another for the pleasure of the public. Choosing the picture I wanted, made me be in control of myself and my image. One last thing I want you to remind is that we all have a platform in this competition, we all have a chance to make a change. Be a helping hand. Be a force for a change. Vi amo tutti, è stato un piacere.

Producer: So we're a bit past the midpoint of the competition how are you feeling?

Coco: Frustrated is like the tip of my emotional ice berg but overall pretty grateful I'm still in the competition. I'd be lying if I didn't acknowledge the array of excellency certain girls have been serving in their photos recently. I hope I can STOP being placed as fourth best but we'll see how these results turn out as I've learned it's best to keep your expectations low in this competition.

 

Producer: Would you like to elaborate on your photo this week?

Coco: I chose not to go with a description because I felt like I would've been one of the Models Miley mentioned about giving grammar lessons to, so I decided to let my photo speak for itself. I love how Karl (R.I.P.) captured the beautiful balance of lights, darks and greys in between to produce a striking yet eerie atmosphere photo. His butler was great company on set and generous enough to let me use his anaconda snake for that extra layer of ominosity so I hope the judges and audience enjoy it as much I did shooting this!

 

Producer: Who do you think is going to leave this round?

Coco: I really don't know, I didn't expect this level of Serves especially for a B&W round. The judges will have to get nit picky for a justified result so let's see what they'll lash us on about.

Producer: Liu, what inspired your photo this week?

 

When I think about being taken back in time I think about the act of being Retrospective - looking back on or dealing with past events or situations.

 

I have had my great moments and not so great moment in this competition and I wanted this photo represent a look back at that. Despite all the trials I found the light and ive kept going. I've made my goals known and I stand by them.

 

 

To be Retrospective also means to be in an exhibition or compilation showing the development of the work of a particular artist over a period of time. I came into this competition with one mindset and its truly forced me to stop giving what I think other want; and give what makes me happy - and something I can stand by. I have loved this photo and held it closely with me this entire time; hoping I could share it because I loved it; and the delicateness that it has.
