It was a warning, not unlike the Prothean beacons of our universe. But yes. War is coming. Forces from the gaming multiverse will meet on the mafia battlefield. I intend to control them in order to unify them against the Space Invaders invasion. The advancement of the human race is at stake and I will need all the tools I can gather. Dessy Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Grades/Reviews Hello, here I will comment on how well I think you did this game. This is entirely my opinion and you’re welcome to disagree or ask more. C grades are usually given to players who died early or without doing much. Gameplay I have some general thoughts on the gameplay. - No one really seemed to use, or at least vocalized, the list of possible roles I posted in the OP. Like you would’ve been able to deduce that the mafia doesn’t have a silencer, blackmailer, or vig early on. Some roles have no reason to exist concurrently (i.e. Forger/Framer. Watcher/Tracker). Also both town and mafia should’ve been able to realize Witch Privilege as either the Mafia Role Cop (who can learn the exact role)... or the Firefighter which is basically the anti-Arsonist. Basically this dude was effectively an almost confirmed townie for most of the game and this wasn’t really recognized... -Town largely played directionless. Y’all would often bring up theories only to throw them away the next Day. There was a lot of tunnel visioning (paying attention to one or two players). No one really stopped to ask why the vote, especially in the first two Days, was met with little resistance. Mafia was comfortable with the gamestate because of this, as noted when this was disrupted by Witch’s reveal. Most of yall seem to ignore his reveal on top of it, as evidenced by the confusion of the switch to CBC. The reveal of the Arsonist should’ve been alarming but it was mostly just crickets. -Vote analysis was weak. There was a lot of assumption that mafia kept voting town. This isn’t really solid evidence when everyone was voting town lol. Mafia tends to want to spread out. Like if I looked at the Day 2 votes, I would have suggested that at least one of Guero/Sebas/fiercE/Rence was a mafia and/or 3P. -I noticed some talk and confusion about how many mafia there are. I always try to use a 3:1 ratio or close to it in my games but you have to keep in mind that that ratio include 3P so it's "3 town for every nontown." So in this case there would've been 3-5 mafia and 0-2 3P. --- Grades Alena (C): Thank you so much for subbing in. You gave a voice to a role that didn’t have it before. However, there was no major change in gameplay with the role. You kind of just followed people to lynch. I would’ve maybe asked people what they thought of your previous slot (DAP) just to get an idea of where people's heads are at. But in all you did what you could with your late entry into the game. Auburn: (C+): Your Night One action attempting to protect WHTS was a good action. Mainly because they would be a prime target for evil roles. However, you stopped them from killing an evil 3P role, which probably would’ve changed the game somewhat (would less people think that there was a jester, for example). Either way you died too early to really see much gameplay. CBC (C/C+): You were essentially a victim of circumstance. It’s hard to counter a sudden lynch like that. However, it did lead to the mafia making a mistake so it wasn’t a total loss. Given that you effectively named all 3 mafia (at death) I think your instinct is good for the game. Chiidish (C-): Now sis… you had a good theory going Night 3 when you basically listed 2 mafia and the arsonist. I was kinda shocked you didn’t really revisit it. I’d like to see less defeatism and more of a concrete path forward. fiercE (D) - No really what???? Guero (B) - You managed to be really under the radar even at the end and no one really suspected you when you did post. Honestly well done. Luckystrike (C+) - You were in this weird state of being suspected by both town and mafia. I think more mafia than town so it was kind of weird that they still wanted to kill you but well here we are. As for your targets, you kinda have a rough start but you were getting the right idea with WHO should be primed. (Ideally you want to do the people who are survivable but also not a top town or top scum). Miguel (C): You kinda just let off Guero? Like it seemed that after Guero responded you kinda just moved on. Yet you didn’t really do the same for touya even though you listed more incriminating actions that Guero has done in like Day 3. I’m also kinda ??? that you didn’t do more with votes you pulled up. Honestly not your best game sir. Nurr (C): I really wish they let you LIVE so you can actually enjoy more than 10 seconds of the game. Overprotected (C): I think you could’ve done a better job of explaining your vote but you weren’t able to be that active so it can’t be helped. Rence (B): You kinda have a slow-ish start and then ultimately you took the “lead” role in the mafia when they needed it. Your gameplay was solid up until the CBC wagon. I think you could’ve let that slide for a moment. Ultimately, it comes time to just let a mafia teammate go. In this case, it would’ve given YOU more time to win as less people would’ve suspected you (if any at all). Sebas (B-): You had a solid game. You did kill off the invest which was a huge negative. I’m still unclear why you targeted speezy. However you did the town a favor by shooting fiercE. Normally killing any town is a negative but given that he wasn’t helping all that much and would’ve been a lynch anyway it was a neutral action. You also were one of the first Taylucifer suspect which was critical. Your real time came when you decided to shoot Taylucifer. If you had waited, you probably would’ve granted the mafia the victory given that they were planning to use his Day Stopping ability, on top of that, you led a push on rence and became an anchor for town up until you died. So in all, good game especially if it was actually your first mafia ever. Selena_lavigne (C) - Tbh I still don’t know why you were lynched. You were an easy townread, especially given that most of the game should know that you’re a new player. There were a few posts that showed that you don’t really have the knowledge that comes with being a member of the mafia. However, that last minute vote shenanigan you pulled wasn’t ideal for the game. But at the same time, it’s hard to imagine a mafia member calling that much attention to themselves. Speezy (C+) - Another player taken way too soon. You had a misfire with investigating OP since he would eventually be lynched. But you did look at luckystrike the night you died and it would have been interesting to see how that carry out into the future. Taylucifer (B-): You did alright with this game. There were moments when you were suspect but didn’t really increase your threat level, if that makes sense. It took the town a vig to take you out to really see what was happening. Touya kinomoto (C): It’s kind of stunning to see you last this long. Unfortunately the eternal scumread still followed you here Wehavetostan (C+): It is kinda rare to see newer players turn around a lynch on them. This is no small feat, even long-time players sometimes just… crumble once they start getting too many votes. You did have to hint at having a power role so it wasn’t too ideal but you played the hand you were given. Witch Privilege (B-): I was kind of worried that you didn’t really say anything about the arsonist for a while especially after Auburn(Loki) died. It’s not really healthy for town to think that there’s a Jester (who they would be hesitant to lynch) over an arsonist (a top tier threat). But eventually you did do it and although the CBC lynch was in the wrong, you did leave mafia scrambling (Taylucifer/rence) and had them only guessing at your role. So yeah in all, this was kind of an average performance from everyone. No one really truly stood out in one way or another (except for that guy.....). Mafia obviously got higher grades since they weren't lynched early and actually won. If you want a more detailed overview of your game, feel free to PM. I think that's all I have to say.
