Cruel Summer Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 People trying to make this look like a bad thing for Taylor somehow or like evermore isn’t a successful album.

Especially at this stage of her career Of course. Congratulations to her. 19 minutes ago, By the Water said: You mean when she pushed at least 4 singles per album? And promoted everywhere? If she truly cared, she’d push more singles from both albums. The Man flopped but still stabilized at 200-250k daily streams from being a single I think she didn't bother pushing any more singles from folklore/evermore because she knew they wouldn't stick either way. Taylor's singles have been flopping on the Hot 100 since the reputation era. This is a known thing, no? She scores high debuts but they're quickly out of the top 10 and soon, out of the Hot 100 altogether. I think she's reached a point where she has had 4 album eras where the singles she did push served no sort of longevity whatsoever so now, she focuses on pushing her albums (which have always been her true strength on Billboard anyways).
Trent W Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Are people stupid or what? Why are people dragging her? She made millions with those 200k copies. No one in their right frame of mind are going to be quitting millions just so a fan can have another week at #1 that she doesn’t even need This is business and she’s very good at it. So great job Taylor

Cheap tactics are things like ticket/merch bundles, but in this case everything sold were still 100% albums; whether she provided a slight incentive through the discount + digital signatures is besides the point, because the point is she was still just selling evermore. The Weeknd did the exact same thing this year as well but im sure you had nothing to say about that, right? Don't be mad Taylor actually has the power to snap her fingers and reach 200k pure sales 6 months in Artist of the century tingz Cool story bro, it's still cheap & desperate. Btw I don't defend my faves when they pull **** like that either, but okay.

Like I said, The Man saw a permanent boost in streams from its single release so even if those singles flopped, the album would benefit in the long run. You want to compare folklore/evermore to her older albums but not Lover, which had multiple singles and her usual promo rollout. In fact, none of them had a tour to push the album. If you look at reputation’s chart run, you’ll see how much that helped

It’s weeks like this that remind us that she’s rapidly approaching the point where she is the most successful album artist in US chart history. A decade from now, it would be entirely unsurprising To find her named the top Billboard 200 artist of all time and the top woman in Billboard history overall. Anyone trying to bring her down or cast doubt upon her success will be proven wrong by history, just as anyone who has doubted her in the past.

This is reminding of that whole mess with folklore and how she would only release signed CDs in weeks she knew she had a chance to go back to #1 and the album would jump in and out of the top 10. I remember there was a time she didn't to have do all this work to keep her albums stable but seeing as albums are the only thing she has going for her on the charts at this stage of her career, I'm not surprised she's going to such great lengths. Congratulations to everyone in the top 10. It doesn’t even matter at this point of it drops outta the BB200 when literally NO ONE can do this, only her. OT: LMFAAOOOO, at this point I’m not even know why I keep getting surprised at her numbers
lover. Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 202K, she really is the industry huh. Happy for OTHs getting their post count up!
fridayteenage Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 First album with three 100k+ sales weeks since Reputation!

Delicate spent more weeks in the Hot 100 than some "hit" singles... What are you talking about?

onewillowsilk Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 21 minutes ago, Artistofthedecade said: And 202k in 25th week, more than some artists' brand new albums' first week sales. How sad. Folklore week 45 - #33 Is it really best idea to come for longevity of era like Folklore, which already spent 45 weeks in top50 (never left yet), charting on par with Lover which spent 92 weeks in top100? Yes there was a time like that, when she released 4-5 singles for each era and didn’t abondon eras after first single or one performance. Maybe she will return to that when there is not global pandemic anymore. I'm not coming for folklore's longevity but it is indeed a fact that she had multiple weeks where she kept releasing signed CDs during weak weeks so she could go back into the top 10/#1 when the people had stopped consuming the album that much and it had actually settled into the #30-#40 range on the Billboard 200. When she stopped with that gimmick, the album settled into that range and it has remained there since because that's an accurate reflection of how it's actually being consumed weekly. I doubt she does that with her future singles. I can see music videos but pop radio isn't here for her anymore like it was earlier in her career and she knows that. There really isn't any reason to keep going all out pushing singles that won't spend more than a week in the top 10. Out of her last 9 top 10 hits, 5 of them spent 1 week in the top 10, 2 spent 2 weeks in the top 10, 1 spent 4 weeks in the top 10 and 1 spent 8 weeks in the top 10.
