Britney's highest certified era is BOMT which is 4x platinum, and she has a handful of multiplatinum albums including Oops (3x platinum) and Greatest Hits (3x platinum)

Gaga's "The Fame" is Diamond or close to it, Born This Way was 3x platinum, and "Poker Face", "Bad Romance" and "Shallow" stomped on the UK Decade Charts for 2000s and 2010s, BOMT and maybe Scream & Shout were the only Britney hits that were similar in size to those hits

So Gaga

Obviosuly Britney :rip: Besides charts, she’s also culturally bigger here. Lady GaGa is a conversation that only happens in SoHo basements.

So Gaga

Yeah, Britney was more of a singles artist in the UK. She never had a HUGE selling album like Gaga or her peers

It’s funny because it’s the opposite in the US, where Britney did well on her albums, but much more poorly on her singles

This is ironic because singles are what’s pulling GaGa ahead in certified units.

Britney moved more album units than GaGa in the UK from 2000-2021 which is excluding Britney’s biggest album.

You’re right. Britney Jean and Glory contributed heavily to Britney moving more album units this century.

Peaks for singles mean nothing.

Gaga's singles do better on the year-end charts, just compare the positions.
