Weeknd gets 2nd #1 over a year after album release. Shook?

In the streaming era, it's very hard to get #1s after the album release.

After Hours was released in March 2020. Blinding Lights peaked at #1 in April 2020, and stayed in the top 10 for 57 weeks and really seemed it was going to canabalize anything from the era that came afterwards.

But "Save Your Tears" was slow and steady and just went #1 in May 2021 - over a year after the release of "After Hours" and "Blinding Lights" peak. Shook?

It's his 3rd #1 of the "After Hours" era after "Heartless" and "Blinding Lights" - so impressive in the streaming era.

The way he got a #1 as a post album single :jonny:

SYT is one of his best pop songs ever I knew it would be a hit :clap3:

It’s simply a really good song. I wish more artists were devoted to quality like Abel.

No. It's not like it had a high profile remix to catapult it 5 places up. It would have never hit #1 otherwise.

Joining Purpose, 1989, 21 and Loud as recent albums with 3 #1’s👏 Which ones did I miss?

I mean, he released a remix with Ariana Grande? Of course it went #1. Still impressive but there is nothing surprising here.

All the users complaining about a remix but there's so many songs that had remixes post-album release that still didn't go #1 :fan:

What is an organic #1? Doing nothing for the song but ends up winning?

I Remember how lots of artists were also doing this to go #1? S&M, LFN, ET for example and its normal.

Popboi.

More shook that the GP didn't make In Your Eyes join the other singles as a #1...

He just has to release a single in the fall and have it go #1 in January 2022 to extend that!
