smholiv Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 you don’t owe an explanation for anything that comes up in your personal life dw, especially when you were only delayed for like a day. Your flexibility and patience is part of hosting SOTS, you’re doing a great job! im excited for this next round

miguel Posted June 3, 2021 Author Posted June 3, 2021 Hello everyone, welcome to Round 3 of Song of the Season 4! This round, we're changing things up a bit! While the past two rounds we gave you sources of inspiration (stars, colors), this round we're having a more technical approach. We want you guys to narrate or tell a story, action, event while you're watching "through the window". Basically, what you have to do is describe what is happening in your song without the narrator (you) actually being there. No me/I pronouns. However, the story you want to tell, as always, is up to you! You can take the challenge literally, and tell a story in which you weren't personally involved in, or tell a story of a personal event, but narrating it through another person's eyes. Whatever you choose is completely valid and we can't wait to read what you come up with! The deadline for this round will be June 10th, at 11:59 p.m EST Submit your song here! Happy writing! Spoiler @hurricane326 @Gastrodonatella @Astro @ProPopGirlStan @Aurora @Prisoner @8thPrince @Jackson@Drifloon @Dessy @Auburn @ughgabriel @Overprotected @Noah @luckystrike @CountryBritney@JonginBey Hurricane, CountryBritney and Noah are all eligible to send for this round to attempt their comeback.

Aurora Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 So this is sort of a two-parter, right? a) Write a storytelling-style song. b) Don't use a first-person perspective. Kind of chill about the no first-person part but I am notoriously average at storytelling-style songs so welp.
JonginBey Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Wait, can we use the word you, or do we need to be more specific?

Using second-person pronouns isn't against the rules, but wasn't the idea of the challenge...if that makes sense. The idea was like being a spectator to something happening but not being involved/not involving yourself

Hug Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Just now, JonginBey said: Would he/him suffice? Yeah that was more the approach we were expecting!
Aurora Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 I’ve had quite a few ideas but honestly don’t think any of them are a good fit for the challenge. Thinking of taking a step back and trying not to over complicate things.
