I totally agree about her team completely ruining the original album concept by sticking all the unnecessary songs like Un Dia and Prisoner just to grab some units, even though the original edition had already excellent streams.

At the end of the day, we'll truly see the result of this milking in her next era.  if she could build a solid fanbase then the job was done if not then she's a GP act and we know how this will end :rip:

Yep :alexz3:

Well deserved :clap3:

The excuses are pathetic.

The better the album = more singles = more collabs = more exposure = more promo = the bigger numbers

Congrats dua :clap3:

What about them? Columbia has given them very little push on streaming tbh since most of their music is in Korean. Off topic anyway.

Well, i still feel like Dua is Katy 2.0

Until she proves me wrong.

Katy doesn’t have a critically acclaimed album, so that’s that.

Prism was #6 on IFPI in 2013 and we still saw how Katy’s career went so their comparison is valid nn

It is the only album in the world that got proper promo in the last 18 months, so I am not surprised.

the GP doesn't care about metacritic score. If so, Katy Perry wouldn't be a thing, so that's that.

Well you can’t be a Katy 2.0 if you have a critically acclaimed album so that’s that.

Doesn’t change the fact that it was re-released three times, four counting Club FN (which was sold with FN therefore counted towards the overall SPS). You can call these “editions” whatever you want, they existed. Who knows, maybe there will be a new version after Moonlight :coffee2:

Again, it wasnt re released four times. The original release was the release, Club FN was the first re-release ( which is basically a remix album like many artists have done before - eg Britney and Gaga and really not a big deal ) and then it got a deluxe re release which again EVERYONE does these days. So if you want to count Club FN it was re-released TWICE, not four. Check your facts honeychild.:coffee2:

So because Dua has seen great success with the same tactics that every artist uses, it is suddenly a problem.

Pure jealousy I fear.

:rip::rip:Ariana the definition of music not the bling:clap3:

Ariana is now established in the industry. Dua is establishing herself. Like are people being stupid on purpose about how the industry works.

Ariana also did all that and more back in her second and third eras. And don't forget she was already a known name from TV.

The story behind Dua Lipa's Grammys afterparty dress

1st re-release August 2020: Club Future Nostalgia

2nd re-release October 2020: Levitating remix

3rd re-release October 2020 (two in one month whew): Fever

4th re-release February 2021: Moonlight including two songs that aren’t hers

My facts are checked, sorry not sorry about it :)

Da Barbie

that website looks like its counting total streams from 2020 and weirdly averaging it for a daily stream count?

is there an actual current breakdown of those album track's daily streams?

positions is the highest selling and most streamed female album of 2021 so far and has sold as much as future nostalgia in the US in less time, so it just seems weird

Counting singles as an "album rerelease" is really lame. The levitating remix was not included on the album until the moonlight edition which was the second rerelease, club future nostalgia being the first. Same with Fever, which was a standalone single released for the Anglophone market and later included on the second rerelease ( deluxe edition) So no, you are talking rubbish.

Also Taylor has THREE editions of Folklore, with two re releases, exact same as Dua.

Folklore

Folklore Deluxe

Folkllore Long Pond Version - which has a total of 38 tracks counting towards streaming LOL.

Imagine being so desperate as to claim that Levititing remix and Fever count as album re releases. SAD.

Wrong! :) Both were included on re-releases of the album and were literally advertised as such for physics copies and streaming:

Levitating remix: https://musicstore.dualipa.com/uk/future-nostalgia.html

Fever: https://www.fnac.com/a15170737/Dua-Lipa-Future-Nostalgia-Edition-Francaise-CD-album

This information is literally all on the album’s Wiki page, it’s not hard to find, it’s common knowledge :coffee2:

Folklore had two editions released at the same time: standard and deluxe (physical exclusive track), and one live album re-release. And all the songs were hers, not other artists. So no, not comparable at all.

Thats a physical version. Nothing to do with streaming which is the point of this thread.

Levitating remix nor Fever were added to any streaming version of FN until the Moonlight Edition dropped. You are really clutching at straws.

And YES they are comparable. Taylor's long pond deluxe has almost 40 tracks counting for streaming. Not Dua's fault if no one wants to stream them is it now ?
