This woman has been through hell and back - poverty, domestic abuse, discrimination for her ethnicity and heritage, a debilitating disease that caused a near-death experience, bipolar depression, countless hate, yet she is still standing and will always be a beacon of light and resilience. To say that I’m proud of her for overcoming everything that’s happened to her would be an understatement.

Love her for this. Yes getting systems in place in schools to help kids with mental health should be a huge priority.

Now you’re just saying anything. Not cute

OT: Selena is great at using her voice for good, we love to see it. Mental health is at an all time high especially in schools due to online learning and reduced socialising, but children are always overlooked when it comes to it

1. She grew up in poverty and had to help her mother look for pennies as a child just so they could afford dinner. She had an extremely poor upbringing.

2. Justin admitted he abused her, as well as Taylor acknowledging he put her through abuse.

3. She has faced countless hate for being Mexican since she debuted. Her ethnicity has been the punchline and the butt of the joke at the hands of Stan Twitter who call her Seltaco and said she deserved to be deported, not to mention OSH on this website calling her a “Fake Latina” when Revelacion came out.

Did I miss anything bestie? @Selena’s Bad Liar

Do people ignore the fact that she decided at 7 years old to start working on Barney to help at home? Do we ignore the “seltaco, selling her album at the border, running from the police” jokes and the many instances of people laughing too like during JB’s deemed iconic roast?

Her mom literally worked 3 jobs just to put food on the table and pushed her into acting so they could have a roof over their head. :rip:
