St. Charles Posted yesterday at 06:23 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:23 PM Neither of those two songs rely heavily on sampling though. The first one wasn't a traditional sample technically --- it's like an interpolation that was credited after the fact. They wrote the song and realized it sounded similar after release, so they then credited INXS. - OT: I don't mind it as long as the sample is used in an interesting and creative way. The music being good is all that matters.
Kyoto Posted yesterday at 06:26 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:26 PM I don't care much, but if every song you release has a sample, then it looks funny (Still love you Ava).
Jaay Posted yesterday at 06:29 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:29 PM (edited) Who cares? It's art. Artists like Mariah that use sampling in a clever way with their songwriting is impressive to me. As long as the original songwriters are credited for their original pieces, it's all good. Edited yesterday at 06:29 PM by Jaay

How her every song is sampled? Her sampled songs are Not Your Barbie Girl, Let It Be Me, Kings & Queens, Born to the Night and My Head & My Heart. She's got way more songs in her discography. KillingYourCareer Posted yesterday at 06:55 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:55 PM Samples have to be lowkey, like in Ava Max's torn. My Head & My Heart, on the other hand, is just lazy... just make it a cover at this point.
Exquisite Posted yesterday at 07:02 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:02 PM Some of the best songs are created from samples, sampling by itself isn't lazy. That's one of my strongest opinions regarding music.
Saintlor Posted yesterday at 07:10 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:10 PM Halsey’s Without Me uses a sample and it’s amazing
