Ariana hasn’t had a flop era yet, why?

Maybe if some of you spent more time in the Spotify iOS app streaming your own favs and less time debating Ariana's success, you'd be able to make this same thread about them too.

Anyway, to answer the question, I'm logical enough to understand that every girl is gonna hit their bumps in the road eventually but Miss Grande-Butera has managed to swerve past them thus far so props to her. She's in her prime and she should take advantage of it.

oh wow  :clap3:

Sticks to modern style of singing and production plus great bops and beautiful melodies. "positions" will always be my top five for her

Well, I kinda stan, but her album sales are typically pretty low despite the streaming powerhouse she is.

we're in 2021. You can't say an artist is a flop because they have low sales but huge streaming stats :rip: . Coz it's happening to most artists right now

I know that, but her album totals are LOW - even relatively.

DW - 429K

Sweetener - 321K

TUN - 302K

Positions - 50K so far

Billie, for example, has passed a million for her debut.

Well, but Billie's sales were really rare. Besides, even if Billie is much more success, it doesn't mean Ari is a flop. I mean, Ari is successful overall, just don't have a great sales like Billie.

Yours Truly is not a hit album :rip:

But yeah other than that her eras have been either moderately successful (DW/Sweetener/Positions) or successful (ME/TUN). Her super low album sales make me think that she’s more singles driven though which might become a roadblock once she gets older but only time will tell.

Yours Truly was really a nonevent outside her Nickelodeon fans. But other than that I agree. Since her breakout with My Everything it’s been success after success. Her career reminds me a lot of Rihanna’s tbh

Literally came here to say this.

Like Rihanna, Ariana releases new albums so frequently each with 1-2 smashing singles, that the rest of the album never has time to flop. Look at her past 4 albums.. she releases 3-4 singles in less than a year's time. Once the 3rd or 4th single doesn't hit the Top 10, an entire new album is released.

I'm not complaining though. It's a win-win - fans always get new music and Ariana gets continued success. I wonder if she will burnout and disappear for 5 years like Rihanna after years of nonstop releases.

Yours Truly was a #1 album with a cute top 10 hit... the olympians in here performing mental gymnastics to consider that a flop era.

it was a moderate success, especially for a debut.

While I do agree that the gheys often inflate  her actual success, she has undeniably never had a “flop” era. And ME and TU,N were huge

That's basically the only album you'd consider a "flop", Splenda is her first underperformance if we exclude YT for being her debut.

If we exclude Yours Truly, yes. But with the exception of thank u next, she doesn't have a smash era.

Why would tu,n be an exception... when it’s one of her eras... which happened to smash?...

You deserve the gold medal in mental gymnastics for this post whew chile

You don’t have to be smart to notice that Yours Truly is 1x Platinum and spawned 0 hits while most of the albums you mentioned outsold and had more hits.

It had a great debut but it’s a flop

OT: Other that YT (which isn’t even that big of a flop), she truly hasn’t flopped yet :clap3:

Spawned 0 hits? In what world is a 5x platinum top 10 debut single not a hit?

OT: The consistency of quality is the main factor. There’s a reason her discography is entirely green on metacritic.
