I'm cautious about this one because her last album aged like Dirty Computer.

This. Both were too much of a crossover attempt.

OT: I have zero expectations. Ground zero = Masseduction quality tho.

Jack Antonoff's production on Masseduction is disgusting. With each listen I dislike it more :skull:.

No, it's one of my favorite albums of all time. There's not one song on that album that isn't amazing. Not even one.

yeah I got into St. Vincent through masseduction as well...but after I heard ST, SM and Actor I realised that it's definitely not up to par

No, it's no where near as bad as some people want to make it out to be :skull:

OT: Can't wait! Always here for new St. V

As everyone above said, no nnn it's basically the usual "NORMIES SCREEEEECH" thing that albums like Art Angels got too

But it's usually true that if MASS is someone's entry point into St. Vincent they usually prefer more accessible music so it's usually their favorite of her albums. Which there's nothing wrong with :michael:

I loooooved it when it came out, but it grew off of me if that makes sense?

the sequencing is one of the major flaws of it tbh, why the hell they put Savior in between the two delicate piano ballads is completely beyond me :deadbanana4:

at this point I just like it, and there are definitely some stunners on there like Los Ageless and Young Lover. but then there's Fear the Future which has always felt fillerish to me

Unoriginal

Mass is good but definitely St. Vincent's weakest. i could do without the whole stretch from new york to dancing with a ghost, although there's also a strong argument for happy birthday johnny being her best song

cautiously excited for this. don't like the cover but the promo poster is great

I'm surprised there is such a discourse around this album, I swear everyone here stanned it when it came out? I could be wrong but whatever I love all her albums so much but ST always hits the spot the most for me.

Mass defo doesn't hit as hard for me as it did at first but I still love most the songs. New York is probably my least favourite single from her tho
